Meet the Formosan Duke 🦋✨ Over 20 hours of tiny stitches wrapped into 15 seconds 🫠 now available on my shop.

As with all my work, this piece is one of a kind! Once it's gone, it's gone. Very hard to see them go sometimes but it brings me so much joy to think of them living out their lives with fellow nature lovers around the world. 🙌🏻 Thank you for watching ☺️

Literally just finished this Pearl Emperor Butterfly. 🏁 It was made especially for the over at , and was cutting it incredibly fine with the opening this Friday evening - but there was no rushing it 😆

To do the unique, intricate patterns of its wings justice, it took hours upon hours of tiny, highly detailed stitches to create.

So glad it’s finally off the hoop and ready for the weekend. If you’re coming down to the trail this Friday from 6pm, you’ll be able to see all that detail up close. 🦋✨

After a flurry of new followers recently I wanted to say hello 👋 as I hardly ever show my face here 😆

I'm Lou, an embroidery artist and designer from London. My work uses an ancient technique called stumpwork that allows me to create the detailed 3D butterflies and mushrooms you see here. Nature is everything to me and I love to be reminded that we are part of something so much bigger than ourselves. I hope my work inspires a bit of the same.
