Come and have a look around our St George’s Hill project as the interior architecture begins to take shape.

From the initial space planning through to the bathrooms, fixed finishes and bespoke architectural details, every decision has been considered to create a home that feels as good to live in as it looks.

A bedroom designed to grow with them.

Designed as more than a place to sleep, this space brings together a quiet area to study, considered storage and a comfortable place to unwind at the end of the day.

Soft blush tones, bespoke joinery and layered details give the room its own personality, while ensuring every element works for everyday life.

Alexander James Interiors is built on family heritage, a shared vision and a belief that every home should feel deeply personal to the people who live in it.

In this conversation, Robert Walker reflects on the story of AJI the values that shaped the studio, the relationships built along the way, and the approach that continues to guide every project today.

The details you don’t notice at first glance are often what make a room feel most complete.

Here, bespoke joinery creates a quiet architectural backdrop, while sculptural accessories, layered textiles, considered styling and soft lighting add warmth, depth and personality. Individually, they are subtle; together, they create a space that feels effortless to live in.

A historic landmark, reimagined.

For the Athénée Palace Hotel in Bucharest, we balanced the building’s rich heritage with a more contemporary sense of comfort. Across the restaurant, café, lounge and spa, sculptural lighting, warm timber and layered materials bring new energy to each space while respecting its original character.

For our clients home in Kent , the brief was to create a principal suite that felt calm, spacious and easy to live in.

Working together, our Interior Architecture and Interior Design teams transformed an adjoining nursery and compact wardrobe area into a new ensuite and dedicated dressing room. A rear dormer brought in more natural light and headroom, while bespoke joinery and layered finishes shaped a quiet retreat at the end of a busy family day.

Designed with intention from the outset, this home reflects the strength of collaboration between our Interior Design and Interior Architecture teams.

Proportion, materiality and bespoke detailing were resolved early, allowing the finished spaces to feel composed and cohesive throughout.

A home designed around modern family living.
Set within the Kent countryside, this private residence has been thoughtfully reimagined to balance understated luxury with the realities of everyday family life.

Working collaboratively our interior architecture and interior design teams transformed the home through considered space planning, bespoke joinery, and carefully layered materials, creating interiors that feel calm, refined, and timeless.

From the principal suite and dressing room to the formal living spaces, every detail was designed to maximise natural light, improve functionality and strengthen the connection between the home and its surrounding landscape.

More from this project will be coming soon as we take you behind the design decisions that shaped every space.
