As many of you know, the cost of precious metals has reached an all-time high. Because of this, I will be adjusting my prices so they continue to reflect the value of the materials I use and the care that goes into each piece. Current prices will remain in place until Sunday 15 December, which may be helpful if there is something from my collection that you’ve been considering.

Before then, I would be delighted to welcome you to my studio for the final event of the year:

Kingsgate Workshops Open Studios
Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 November 2025
12–6 pm
Kingsgate Workshops, Unit 4
110–116 Kingsgate Road
London NW6 2JG

It’s a lovely opportunity to see my work in person, discover new pieces, and meet other artists and makers throughout the building.

Thank you for your ongoing support - it is genuinely appreciated and allows me to continue doing the work I care about most. I look forward to seeing you at the Open Studios.

✨ England Maker of the Year ✨

I’m absolutely honoured to share that I’ve been named England Maker of the Year at the Heritage Crafts Awards yesterday at the beautiful Wentworth Woodhouse, the venue supporter.

These awards recognise heritage craftspeople across the UK who have made an outstanding contribution to their craft in the last year - people who push their craft to new levels or contribute to its promotion and continuation in exceptional ways. I’m deeply grateful to have my work in silversmithing acknowledged among such talent.

A huge thank you to the Maxwell Hanrahan Foundation for sponsoring the award, and to Heritage Crafts for championing the value of skilled craft across the UK.

I also want to recognise my fellow finalists, Florence Hamer and Razwan Ul-Haq. It’s a privilege to be named alongside such dedicated and inspiring makers.

Feeling very grateful today. 🖤✨

**A look back**

I’m sharing this short film by Lucinda Emms, first shown in 2022, to introduce myself to new followers and anyone who wants to know a bit more about my work and practice.

The film was commissioned by for FIVE, the contemporary metalwork collective I am part of, to celebrate our collaboration at Goldsmiths’ Fair at Collect 2022.

It gives a glimpse into how I work and what inspires me.

An ecclesiastical silver commission I completed at the end of last year - a Wafer Box for regular use in the weekly services at St Albans Church, Romford.

Created in Sterling Silver, the piece is hand-constructed with a chased and textured lid, an 18ct gold-plated interior, a removable tray, and a beautifully enamelled knop featuring the exquisite work of Jane Short. The inscription reads “I am the Bread of Life” and includes details of the generous donor.

A real honour to create something so meaningful for ongoing sacred use.

Brilliant and unforgettable trip to Birmingham today, organised by , to visit the fascinating workshops of — where 338 years of history and craftsmanship are still alive and thriving. An incredible array of traditional processes are still being carried out every day.

We then visited the Birmingham Assay Office for a private handling session of remarkable objects made and hallmarked in Birmingham. A truly inspiring day celebrating heritage, skill, and silver!

I am delighted to be represented by the FIVE collective at Crane Court Gallery, for ‘The Art of Craft’ Exhibition, a showcase of makers in metalworking, woodworking, blacksmithing, glassblowing, weaving and Verre églomisé.

The show opens at Crane Court Gallery from Friday 25th April at 5pm for an exclusive first look.

Craft encompasses many aspects of art, design and functionality, it can be minimalist and maximalist, it can tell a story and create conversation, it can educate and inspire.
The essence of all craft though is the presence of the hand of the maker. This can be overt with marks made in clay through pressure and gesture or almost imperceptible with objects formed in metal and silver appearing almost too perfect to have been shaped by hand.

Indeed, each craftsperson, through years and decades of honing their respective skills, has gained a mastery of their medium which allows them to reveal and conceal their hand or simply let the material speak for itself and tell us its own story.

The exhibition is free and runs from 25th April - 30th May, Tuesday-Friday 12-6pm - or by appointment.

The exhibition will be open Monday 12th May – Sunday 18th May, 12-6pm for Craft Week.

Address: 3 Crane Court, EC4A 2EJ

FIVE is a platform celebrating contemporary silver and metal, fostering new dialogues about material & craft. This year the FIVE collective will showcase a diverse selection of contemporary metalwork, featuring both precious and non precious metals including the new addition of niobium and anodised aluminium.

FIVE 2025 are comprised of graduate Alice Fry and silversmith Rajesh Gogna and returning artists Jessica Jue, and Ane Christensen. The collection, titled Lines of Enquiry, explores two key themes which runs through all 5 makers work: focusing on precision and strong lines and an ongoing curiosity to push the boundaries of contemporary metalwork. FIVE is a group of five voices united by these shared practices and an exploration of material possibilities

Thrilled to see Bishopsland featured in this weekend’s Financial Times How to Give It magazine!

The brilliant Emma Crichton-Miller has captured our journey beautifully in her article, complemented by stunning images of our new home and the inspiring 24/26 cohort, taken by the talented .

To be recognised as one of ‘Three initiatives at the heart of a British Craft Revival’, alongside the Kings Foundation, is a huge honor! We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far in renovating and developing the Grade II-listed National Trust buildings into a vibrant hub for contemporary silversmithing.

However, our ambitious journey continues. Fundraising is essential to complete this transformative project and to create an unparalleled space for our craft—one where silversmithing thrives, connections are forged, and knowledge is shared.
