A West Village pied-à-terre full of the most beautiful vintage collectible pieces. A Knoll sofa in Pierre Frey velvet, Osvaldo Borsani chairs, Georges Jouve sconces and Jean Lurçat tapestry cushions. Each piece sourced over time through galleries and auctions. That is how you end up with a combination of pieces this special.

There is something so lovely about an interior that has been that considered. You feel it when you look at it.

Katrien van der schueren’s Ark of Us series at Onna House in East Hampton. Puzzle-like wall sculptures with secret chambers concealed within, each one drawing on the wunderkammer tradition. The craft is extraordinary. The first and only collection of this series in the United States.

No trip to Florence is complete without a stop at this amazing gallery. FLAIR, tucked in Via Maggio, is filled with sculptural pieces in bronze, stone and wood, bringing contemporary design together with vintage finds and French modernism. I return every time I am in the city and it always feels worth another visit.

The joy of summer travel. J'adore St Tropez markets and little shops full of beautiful things, then on to Tuscany for a wine tour and lunch at the Marchesi Antinori vineyard. Inspiration everywhere you look.

Georges Jouve, Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouvé, Jean Royère. has spent decades living with these pieces across his homes in Paris and Berlin.

Not acquiring. Living with them, rearranging them, waiting for the right piece to come to market. An apartment should never be finished, he says. It's a permanent work in progress. That is collecting at its most considered.
