Few bathrooms could carry this sense of scale and history quite so naturally. At St Giles House in Dorset, timeworn panelling, original timber floors and gilt-framed paintings create a richly layered backdrop for Drummonds’ Usk cast iron bath, its bespoke copper exterior developing a characterful patina. Alongside, the freestanding Spittal shower has an architectural presence that suits the generous proportions of the room, while the Single Lowther vanity in Black Marquina marble introduces a darker counterpoint. Antique brass fittings draw the elements together, creating a bathroom that feels entirely at home within its centuries-old surroundings.

Crema Evora marble sets the tone for this considered family ensuite, its soft veining extending from the bespoke vanity into the generous walk-in shower. A tall Crittall-style door introduces a crisp architectural line, creating contrast against the natural movement of the stone.

A series of decorative plates depicting Wagner operas brings an unexpected theatrical note to this characterful bathroom. Reflecting the owner’s background in set design, the display adds a distinctly personal layer to the historic fabric of this Pennsylvania Dutch farmhouse.

At the centre, Drummonds’ freestanding Tay bath introduces a sculptural simplicity, its polished nickel brassware sitting comfortably amongst antique furniture and richly patterned textiles. The balance feels instinctive rather than imposed - a space where craftsmanship, storytelling and atmosphere are held in thoughtful alignment.

Warm oak and softly veined stone establish a rich, tactile character in this Wimbledon bathroom. The fluted vanity brings texture and rhythm to the foreground, while the walk-in shower is defined by dramatic backlit stone, its natural translucency illuminating the veining from within and creating an atmospheric glow.

Drummonds’ Leawood brassware, designed by Martin Brudnizki, introduces a more decorative note. Finished in Antique Brushed Brass, its warm tone and subdued sheen complement the oak while standing out against the paler stone. Soft curves and a restrained palette give this master bathroom a serene, sculptural quality. Soft, tonal surfaces flow around the space, creating a gentle backdrop for Arabescato marble and warm brushed brass, while the generous proportions allow each element to breathe.

The Double Ladybower vanity provides a strong focal point, its expressive marble veining framed in brass and paired with a characterful vintage mirror. On either side, Drummonds’ Single Derwent Lights with Fluted Shades introduce a softly diffused glow and a subtle mid-century influence.

Beyond, the double shower continues the sense of openness, with brushed brass fittings bringing warmth and finely crafted detail to the pared-back interior.

In this Mallorcan retreat, architecture and landscape move in quiet dialogue. Natural light pours through the open-plan bedroom and bathroom, guiding the gaze towards a pared-back outdoor shower set against pale stone. The layout is deliberately fluid - thresholds dissolve, materials extend beyond walls, and the island’s climate becomes an active presence within the space. Mornings begin beneath open sky, where warm air and the faint trace of salt drift in from the coast. It is a design shaped by Mallorca’s rhythm and terrain, allowing daily ritual to feel instinctively connected to place.

This bathroom in a West Sussex country house takes a richly layered approach to traditional English interiors, where pattern, colour and collected pieces give the space the character of a decorated room. Delicate botanical wallpaper is paired with patterned curtains and cool grey stone flooring, while antique furniture, artwork and ornate mirrors continue the decorative language beyond the bathroom door.
Positioned beneath the window, Drummonds’ Morar cast iron bath brings a confident note of deep red to the scheme, accompanied by the Mull bath and shower mixer. The Single Thames vanity echoes the lighter tones of the room, its marble top and polished metal stand introducing a crisp counterpoint to the surrounding pattern. How do you make a new home feel as though it has always been there? For Jess and Jonathan Nahon of Sugarhouse Design & Architecture, the answer lay in embracing character rather than perfection.

In this cedar-shingled home in Amagansett, reclaimed materials, architectural salvage and unexpected details soften the precision of new construction. The primary bathroom follows the same philosophy, combining tactile surfaces with Drummonds fittings whose traditional craftsmanship and reassuring solidity feel entirely at home within the scheme.

In Amagansett, New York, this cedar-shingled family home by Sugarhouse Design & Architecture was conceived to feel as though it had evolved over time. Reclaimed materials, architectural salvage and subtle irregularities lend character to the new build, an approach that continues into the primary bathroom, where tactile materials and traditional craftsmanship create a relaxed, settled atmosphere.
Designed with the ease of a beach house in mind, the space features Drummonds fittings, chosen for their weight, craftsmanship and sense of permanence. A generous bath surround makes room for the practicalities of family bathing, while carefully considered details keep the space feeling calm and uncluttered.

“This is a beach home, and we wanted the bathroom to immediately signal relaxation and ease,” explain Jess and Jonathan Nahon, co-founders of Sugarhouse.
