Inspired by an architectural icon, this game turns balance into a joyful challenge.
Carefully stack the capsules and watch your tower grow.
More challenging than Jenga, it keeps your hands steady and your mind engaged.

The Capsule Tower was inspired by Kisho Kurokawa’s dream of a modular future, where each capsule could be shifted and restacked to create infinite arrangements.
One building yet, in essence, a thousand.

Make your own.

The Japanese Capsule Tower is a wooden stacking game inspired by Tokyo’s iconic Nakagin Capsule Tower, originally designed by Kisho Kurokawa in 1972 and dismantled in 2022.

Kurokawa was inspired by the Buddhist concept of renewal crating the building as a form of temporary, adaptable architecture, mirroring a living‑organism.

20/05/2025

The Japanese capsule tower stacking game is inspired by the concept of Open Play. The set of pieces can be arranged in countless ways, meaning there’s no single correct solution but thousands of possibilities!

Rather than merely replicating the building, this project aims to embody the philosophy behind its design, keeping Kurokawa’s ideas alive in a playful and interactive way.
