A Rum Fellow

A Rum Fellow Design studio dedicated to artisan textiles, rugs & creating statement interior pieces. We want to learn and grow with those people.

A Rum Fellow is a London based interiors brand celebrating heritage craft techniques in the creation contemporary designs. Our aim is to create extraordinary pieces of furniture and accessories that will captivate the room. A Rum Fellow is a family business owned by Caroline Lindsell and Dylan O’Shea. Our partnership fuses a desire for beautifully crafted and well-travelled design befitting of our

modern lifestyle. In the spirit of the intrepid British explorers, we traverse the globe in search of the wonderful and unique. Each year we introduce a new collection inspired by a country we have explored, taking in that region’s finest traditional design, and translating it in our own uncommon style. We founded the business on 3 principals:

Design: The product always comes first; our foremost intention is to create beautiful products with extraordinary qualities, sympathetic to their heritage whilst achieving a timeless aesthetic. Quality: We travel the world in search of master craftspeople to work with, each element of a design is made by an expert in their discipline. By matching the most skilled weavers in Guatemala with the finest furniture makers in England we achieve upmost quality throughout our collection. Integrity: A Rum Fellow is rooted in the design we love, the values we hold, and a respect for the master craftspeople we work with. Working with cooperatives, social enterprises and charities we aim to celebrate and support the artisans directly. We design, source and produce for private and commercial clients, please do get in touch if you have a project in mind, we'd love to explore it.

Lovely to see our rugs featured in this stunner of a transformation by . These spaces exemplify how a thoughtful color palette and layered textures ground a home. The deep greens and rich wood tones provide a sophisticated canvas for our Tessera Rug (living room) & Ocular Rug (bedroom). So nice to be part of such a polished, yet livable, design vision.

Behind every rug is a story of tradition, patience, and incredible skill. We’re so proud to stand alongside the master artisans in Nepal who bring our designs to life. It takes many hands, from hand-spinning the wool and silk, the rhythmic precision of hand knotting on this loom, the careful finishing, to create a piece this special. True luxury isn’t manufactured, it’s grown, spun, and knotted by hand.

This design is Abacus in Posy.

Echo. Natural jute, reimagined.

Hand knotted into lovely soft, tactile pile rug, this design explores the natural jute fibre in a more elevated form. Subtle movement flows through the jute tones, bringing quiet texture and depth.

Available as an all over design or with border placement in two colourways.

I’m always in awe watching our weavers, it’s a real treat to see them at the loom. So here I’m taking you with me for an intimate glimpse behind our flatweave rugs and the craftsmanship behind every one. To consider we’re working with a weaving tradition spanning over 500 years is a wonderful and special thing.

Zephyr
We’re so excited to share this new design with you. It flows in a soft three tonal palette, built around an undulating, repeated pattern inspired by the gentle movement of air drifting across landscapes.

We’ve created it in two scales to open up more possibilities for different spaces and applications, and to really explore how the pattern shifts in character at each size. The larger scale makes a beautiful statement. I honestly cannot wait to see the smaller scale running up a staircase - it feels like it was made for it!

The colourful home of .design featuring our Lido Rug encapsulates her thoughtful approach to design.

‘Even with bold color and pattern, the same thing holds true: when everything competes for attention, nothing feels calm. Once the priorities are clear, the rest gets easier.‘
