GIL CARVALHO www.gilcarvalho.com Gil Carvalho initially studied architecture before enrolling at Cordwainers @ London College of Fashion to study footwear design.

He worked with Vivienne Westwood after graduating and quickly established his name amongst the new breed of shoe designers, launching his own label in 2005 at London Fashion Week. His clientele included Madonna, Kylie, Fergie and Lindsay Lohan. Commissions from the Brunei Royal family followed and from several high-end fashion labels, including LVMH. In 2013 his artwork was selected and exhibited

at the Galeries Lafayette in Paris, part of an international art exhibition gathering new emerging artists. Since then Gil has participated in several group exhibitions and had his first solo show in July 2015 at London Westbank Gallery in Notting Hill. GC work explores the relationship between art and design, taking inspiration in fashion and pop art, using digital and mixed media to create bold and iconic images.
