Baked Pear with Camembert: A Harmony of Sweet and Savory

Treat yourself to an elegant yet simple dish that brings together the sweetness of ripe pears, the creaminess of Camembert, and the crunch of walnuts, all enhanced by aromatic herbs and spices. Perfect for a cozy evening or an impressive appetizer!

---

Ingredients:

1 ripe pear, halved

100 g Camembert cheese, cubed

2 slices of Black Forest ham

A small handful of walnuts, chopped

1 clove of garlic, minced

A pinch of cinnamon

1–2 tsp honey

Olive oil (for drizzling)

A few sprigs of fresh thyme

---

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Pears:
Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Cut the pear in half and gently scoop out the seeds with a teaspoon, creating a small hollow perfect for your filling.

2. Fill with Creamy Goodness:
Dice the Camembert into bite-sized cubes and nestle them into the hollows of the pear halves.

3. Add Texture and Flavor:
Chop the walnuts and mince the garlic finely. Sprinkle both over the cheese, letting the garlic infuse its rich aroma. Top with a pinch of fresh thyme leaves for an herbal touch.

4. Enhance with Spices:
Drizzle the pears with a little olive oil and lightly dust them with cinnamon for a warm, aromatic note.

5. Bake to Perfection:
Place the filled pears on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12–15 minutes, just until the cheese softens and begins to melt slightly. Be careful not to overbake, as you want the cheese to hold its creamy texture.

6. Add a Savory Twist:
Remove the pears from the oven and gently roll the Black Forest ham into elegant spirals. Arrange these alongside the melted cheese, letting the flavors mingle beautifully.

7. Finish with Sweet Elegance:
Drizzle the entire dish with golden honey for a glossy finish and a delightful touch of sweetness. Serve warm and enjoy this sophisticated blend of flavors and textures.

This baked pear with Camembert is a feast for both the eyes and the palate, combining rustic charm with gourmet finesse. Pair it with a glass of white wine for an unforgettable culinary experience.
