Bathroom design decisions I love from our house renovation (and would absolutely do again).

Underfloor heating. I’d always recommend it in a bathroom. It makes such a difference on a winter morning.

Carrara marble tiles in the shower and on the bathroom floor. Timeless, easy to clean, very forgiving, and I still love how they look.

A custom-made vanity designed to properly fit the space.

I went for the largest size, 1800mm boat bath and have no regrets. I’m tall, so having a bath I can actually stretch out in has made it my favourite way to wind down before bed.

How to mix metals in your home (without it looking messy)

Start by choosing a primary metal and repeating it to create cohesion. In bathrooms especially, taps, showers, and bath fittings should always match.

Layer in a secondary metal for warmth and contrast. Aged brass works beautifully and feels timeless rather than trend led.

Use accent metals on mirrors, lighting, or cabinet hardware. These are easier and more affordable to update.
To keep the look calm and considered, limit your home to two or three metals total, repeating each finish so it feels deliberate, not accidental.

✨ Save this for your next renovation or refresh.

How an Interior Designer Can Add Value to your next project

Thinking of redesigning your space in 2026? A designer can actually save you time, money, and stress.

They can:
✨ Put a full, cohesive design together so you don’t waste hours figuring out what works
✨ Help you avoid costly mistakes by planning every detail carefully
✨ Give you access to trade-only discounts you wouldn’t get on your own
✨ Make your home functional, beautiful, and tailored to how you live
✨ Stretch your budget further by focusing on what really matters

Hiring a designer doesn’t have to be a luxury. It’s about having the right plan, the right products, and the right support to make your space work perfectly for you.

Breakfast nook transformation!

We added custom banquette seating to this empty corner to make it more functional and inviting, and replaced the old doors with black Crittall-style ones to bring in more light and create a better connection to the garden.

Window treatments can make or break a room, and here’s how I get them right every time.

One of my favourite pairings is a roman blind with long curtains. Together they add depth, softness and block out light for restful sleep.

One rule I never break: short curtains. They instantly date a space. If you don’t have room for drapery, a roman blind alone is a polished choice.

In London, Victorian bay windows sit lower to the ground and can leave you feeling exposed. Shutters add privacy but can feel stark. Layering with long curtains softens the look and creates a warmer, more inviting room.
