Good kitchen design is all about the details.

Open shelving, layered lighting and warm timber tones make this space feel both practical and inviting. The black handles and tap add interest.

Open plan doesn’t have to mean one big undefined space.

A simple divider like this keeps the room feeling open while gently separating the living and dining areas.

Small space? That just means smarter decisions.

This little corner works because every piece earns its place:

• A round table keeps circulation easy
• Slim, light legs stop the furniture feeling heavy
• A bench instead of bulky chairs maximises seating
• Plants add height and life without taking up floor space

And notice the colour story — soft pink, mustard, black and green — enough personality to feel styled, but calm enough not to overwhelm.

Design isn’t about square footage.
It’s about intention.

Good design isn’t about filling a room. It’s about creating balance.

Here, the simplicity of black dining chairs anchors the space, while that sculptural chandelier adds drama without overwhelming it. The parquet flooring brings warmth and movement, and the soft neutral walls allow everything to breathe.

Strong contrast. Clean lines. One statement moment overhead.

When you’re renovating, think in layers:
• Structure (flooring, architecture)
• Function (table, seating layout)
• Statement (lighting, art, sculptural pieces)

Get those three right and the room will always feel considered.

Soft curves, warm woods and sculptural lighting this is how you make minimal feel inviting.

Notice how the round table base anchors the space, while the layered textures (timber, woven rug, matte ceramics) stop it feeling flat. Clean lines don’t have to mean cold. Design is always about balance.

The perfect corner for creative thinking. There is something about the warmth of this palette that just makes you want to settle in with a sketchbook.

Planning a space is about more than just measurements; it's about capturing a feeling. This one feels like pure energy.

Double the island, double the functionality.
In a large open-plan kitchen, the "flow" is everything. I love how these marble islands create distinct zones for prep and dining while keeping the aesthetic seamless. The rattan stools add that perfect touch of warmth to balance the cool stone.

Simple, clean, and intentional. There’s something so grounding about a neutral palette paired with organic textures. This oak framed armchair and marble top coffee table create a sophisticated focal point without overcrowding the room. It’s a masterclass in "less is more".

Space planning isn’t just about where the furniture goes, it’s about how the room feels when you sit in it. By keeping the colour palette cohesive (greys, woods, and blacks), even a smaller dining area feels expansive and calm.

Tip: Use a statement pendant light to "anchor" your dining table and define the zone in an open-plan layout.
