Today, the Cabinet of Voices crew met again at Maidstone Museum, to hand bind the little books from our museum visits back in the summer - it's a beautifully curated collection of the objects that caught our imaginations, told through sketches, poetry and stories

The whole project has been expertly led by Giles Whitehead in readiness for the Maidstone LitFest in October

We were working in the Glass Room in the modern extension of the museum, which is dominated by these incredible giant Chinese ceramic vases - so I've tried to capture one of the curious characters in this high speed dabble

Following a suggestion by a visitor, Grace is belatedly making her debut on cards now, in readiness for my return to Whitstable on Thursday for the final week of our Lost Doll Found Collective exhibition at the Horsebridge

There might even be another 'Dotty' dolly or two, if I get a wriggle on!.... 🫣

Nothing like the last minute efforts of the ADHD brain! 😅

The exhibition runs until Monday 7th September, with free mini drop in workshops on Friday 4th from 12-3pm

We've lived in Kent for decades now, but have never been to this place, even though It's only a few miles away! 🫣

I had a few happy hours exploring Whitstable before we left to come back to Maidstone, and let out a hoot when I spotted this print on a t-shirt in a shop along Harbour Street 😂

I have to admit it's been a bit frantic these past few weeks/months leading up to our first show with the Lost Doll Found Collective 🫣, and I also have major problems with the expression "I'm fine", which nearly always means the opposite in my experience! 😬

The wonderful conversations we've had with visitors, with some heartwarming comments about the show, make it all worthwhile 🥰

This fabulous top hat is the creation of A Small Design - she was wearing this, teamed with a fabulous frilled blouse and black layered skirt when I first met her at the Knitting & Stitching show, several years ago in pre-covid times

I remember being fascinated by her prim dolls and gorgeous sketchbooks, and couldn't peel myself away from her stand for the longest time! 🫣

Scroll on to present day, when ideas were first forming for the Lost Doll Found Collective , she was a prime recruit to our group

When I mentioned the hat again, she brought it in for our PV last night, and it's been getting lots of attention!
