Sitting above The Victorian plant shop and named after Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, the space carries its botanical influence right through to the tiles.

Checkerboard cement tiles set the pace underfoot, while the bar and glossy Zellige behind it bring in different finishes, tones and textures.

A fantastic example of how changing the finish, format and playing with the layout can keep a tightly edited palette feeling anything but one note. We loved working on this project.

For our latest Tile Talks, we caught up with Natasha Lyon, Co Founder and Creative Director of APPRECIATION PROJECT, about creating a bathroom that brings three distinct tile designs together without losing its sense of calm.

Inspired by Victorian pathways and their decorative borders, Natasha used Marrakesh Stripes to bring an unexpected detail into the scheme, Plain Ecru to give the eye somewhere to rest, and colourful mosaics to define the shower area.

We talk pattern, colour, the return of the tile border and why Natasha will always champion a statement floor.
