NEW STOCK ALERT - out and about today to fetch a fresh (vintage) Ercol table and chairs that will be winging their way to my website with a fabulous backstory, as the previous owner did his homework on the table as a schoolboy! Also great to see my mate

LOVE A DEEP DIVE and this is a stonker! I found this beautiful pen and ink picture of a view from my tiny childhood Cotswolds village Ebrington at random in an antiques centre in Hebden Bridge, 200+ miles away. I found the place where the artist sat - on the green opposite the house - the view contains the roof of my primary school and the house is opposite where my gran lived! The artist now paints lovely pictures in Scotland.

DO YOU LOVE TEAK? I do - look at this lovely Brasilia sideboard by G Plan, which reminded me of the time many years ago when Ross Kemp took a selfie of us the day after I came back from holiday. Available via mallardgreen.co.uk

NICE TO KEEP IT LOCAL with a visit to the Ripley fair today to chat to dealers and buy the odd thing.

Picked up some very punk tartan to go with my midcentury schmutter!

BLOSSOMS are out in Harrogate and it’s time for price cuts all round on all the top quality gear at mallardgreen.co.uk. I’m also back out running to cut some weight, what a segue! As the SafeStyle dude would say, TOP BANANA!!

THE COTSWOLDS are my homeland (ignore the South London accent!) and it was nice to spend a couple of days there with family and see a few people. Couldn’t keep away from the antiques and midcentury at and the insanely good food at Herd and La Vecchia Cantina.

DOES EVERYTHING CHANGE over the years? I dunno, I look basically the same. So does this Ercol furniture as in its younger years (what a segue!) but this is handsome, high quality furniture. Now available via Mallard Green!

FRIDAY I’M IN LOVE after finding this Robert Smith mural in Blackpool. My first time there ever and delighted to pop into which is Just Like Heaven (clang!) and a proper old-skool dip n’dive antiques hub
