⚓ A little update from the nautiQa workshop!

I’m really excited to say that production is now underway on our new 1/12th scale D-Class Lifeboat and MB-4H launching tractor model kits, and I’ve started kitting up orders for these new additions! 😁

It’s brilliant to see these projects moving from development into production, and I’m looking forward to seeing them make their way to fellow lifeboat enthusiasts and model makers.

I’ll share more as things progress, but in the meantime, here are a few photos of the models and the kits coming together.

And don’t forget, our £50 nautiQa prize draw is still running until 4 November!

Every order placed through the website during the promotion counts as one entry, whether you order a sticker, postcard, artwork print or one of our model kits. Every order has an equal chance of winning, whatever its value.

So, if you’ve had your eye on something, now’s a great time to take a look!

As always, thank you so much to everyone who has supported nautiQa. Every order, share, comment and recommendation really does make a difference to a small independent business like mine. ❤️

Hey folks! 👋

Just a little reminder that my £50 nautiQa prize draw is still running throughout October! 🎁

Every order placed through my website counts as one entry, whether it's a sticker, postcard, print or one of my larger items.

So if you've been thinking about treating yourself or getting an early Christmas present sorted, now's a great time, you could even end up with a £50 voucher to spend at nautiQa afterwards! 😉

And, of course, every order helps a small independent business like mine grow, so it's hugely appreciated. ❤️

Thanks as always for your support!

Scott

And we’re very nearly there… 👀

I’m incredibly pleased to reveal the latest renders of my 1/12th scale RC model of the Talus MB-4H.

And whilst 1/12th scale might sound like a ‘little’ version, it’s still a fairly substantial RC model! The finished model measures approximately 382mm long, 229mm wide and 252mm high — so it’s certainly not small!

The model shown in the renders is depicted as RNLI Margate lifeboat launching tractor TW-65H (HF24 BWO).

Although, I’m sure the eagle-eyed amongst you will notice something… I have to admit that the model I’ve designed is actually based on the Mk2 ‘Bendy’, rather than the Mk3 that TW-65H is. Unfortunately, at present I can’t make all three options available.

As a lifelong lifeboat enthusiast, and former crew member, I’ve always admired the incredible engineering that comes out of Clayton Engineering Limited, and the amazing range of launching equipment they supply to the RNLI, so I’ve thoroughly enjoyed taking on the challenge of developing this ‘little’ version of the MB-4H.

I’ve now spent approximately 10 months designing, printing, testing, reworking and refining the model in SolidWorks, and I’m incredibly proud of how far it has come. There have been plenty of iterations along the way, and more than a few parts that have ended up in the bin! But the design is now very nearly complete.

I’m looking forward to getting the final pieces finished and, hopefully, many of you will have the opportunity to see one of these driving around at the Lowestoft Model Engineering and Model Making Exhibition on October 31st and November 1st.

It’s been a huge project, but seeing it come together like this makes all those hours worthwhile. 😁

More progress on the MB-4H this weekend. The front step has been added, additional detailing on the bonnet including the catches to hold the vents shut. The lifting eyes and further work on the hydraulic cylinders for the vents all done.

I believe I have the bonnet hinges and catches to finish off and then the bonnet and forward body are complete!

Some mb-4h's have an additional front tow hitch, and some have a ground anchor, I won't be including these as part of the standard kit, but may offer them as an additional optional add on.

Hello Lowestoftians! 👋

I'd really like to share some of the Lowestoft related artwork and products I've been working on through my little business, NautiQa, particularly as I've currently got a little prize draw running too!

I'm very proud of our little town on the coast and I've created a couple of ranges celebrating some of the things that make Lowestoft recognisable, featuring the Gull Wing, the lighthouse and Gulliver, with one of our resident kittiwakes sneaking into the picture too!

There's a Lowestoft version, and a Sunrise Coast version with the sun coming up over the sea. You can find the designs on postcards, mugs, stickers, T-shirts and embroidered hats, so there are plenty of options if you're looking for a little bit of Lowestoft for yourself or as a gift.

I've also created artwork featuring some of our maritime history, including the Mincarlo, Kingfisher (one of our Pilot Boats), the Lowestoft lifeboats and the Brooke Marine builders' plates for the Mincarlo and Lifeboat 50-001 Rotary Service.

And because I'm trying to grow this little business, I've currently got a prize draw running: 🎁

Every order placed through my website between now and the 4th of November gets one entry into a draw to win a £50 nautiQa gift voucher. There's no minimum spend whether you buy a sticker or one of my large model kits, one order = one entry.

So if you fancy having a little bit of Lowestoft on your wall, on your mug, on your T-shirt... or perhaps sending a postcard to someone who's moved away, I'd be really grateful if you'd have a look. ❤️

And if you don't fancy buying anything, sharing this post with a fellow Lowestoft lover would mean a lot too.

Thanks for letting me share my little business with you, and hopefully I'll see a few of you around town! ⚓

🎄 Beat the Christmas rush… and get an extra gift on me!

With Christmas fast approaching, I'm running a little nautiQa prize draw as a thank you for supporting my small business.

Every order placed through my website between 1st September* and 4th November will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 nautiQa gift voucher! 🎁

And here's the best bit:

Every order = one entry, regardless of what you buy.

Whether it's a single sticker, a few postcards, a print for the wall, or even an MB-4H kit, it all counts as one entry.

So if you've been thinking about getting something from nautiQa for yourself or as a Christmas gift, getting your order in during the next few weeks could mean an extra £50 to spend afterwards! 😉

📅 Orders placed: 1st September – 4th November
🎁 Prize: £50 nautiQa gift voucher
⚓ Every website order = one entry

And, as always, thank you so much for supporting nautiQa. Every order, share, recommendation and bit of interaction genuinely helps a small business like mine.

Good luck! 🤞

*don't worry! If you've already ordered you've already been added into the draw.
