Sindri is one of the most famous dwarves in Norse mythology. He crafted Mjölnir for Thor, Draupnir for Odin, and Gullinbursti, a golden-bristled boar, for Freyr. In one famous story, Loki, the trickster god, made a bet with Sindri and Brokkr (another famous dwarf) about their ability to create items more magnificent than those made by other dwarves. Despite Loki’s interference, Brokkr and Sindri succeeded, creating some of the most powerful items in Norse mythology.
