The air’s getting cooler and the evenings are drawing in, so here’s a little goodbye to summer. 🌗

A few moments from behind the scenes: old gold in the sunshine, flowers everywhere during jewellery shoots, a house full of animals, days out with my boys and the odd Aperol along the way. 🤌🏼🍹

There was a pause when I needed one, too. Thank you for sticking around, welcoming me back and sharing my excitement over every old cut diamond and beautiful bit of history. It means more than you know. 🥹

A little bit about the woman behind all the old gold… 👋🏼✨

I spend an awful lot of time showing you beautiful jewellery, but perhaps not quite enough time introducing the person usually lurking behind the camera.

So, hello! I’m Nicola, or Nic, or Kiki, depending on who you ask 😂 I’m mummy to two little boys, a graphic designer of 16 years, wife to an antique dealer and the woman behind SoBi.. Here I am looking rather professional, which makes a change from my usual look of wellies, hay in my hair and probably a Labrador at my feet. 😂🐾

One of my favourite parts of running SoBi is finding a piece that stops me in my tracks. I’ll tell myself I’m just having a look, then suddenly I’m researching hallmarks and imagining who wore it a hundred years ago. 🤌🏼

I’ve been known to fall for a piece while sourcing it and then have a very serious conversation with myself about whether it’s actually going on the website 😂🫣💍

I choose these pieces because I genuinely love them, and I get just as excited when one finds its person. 🥹

Vintage 9ct gold, tiny diamonds and the prettiest engraved starburst settings. ✨

Dating to 1992, this beautiful 6mm thick band has just the right amount of sparkle, understated enough to wear every day, but with SO much lovely detail when you look a little closer.

I love the fine milgrain edging too. It gives the whole piece that gorgeous vintage character that you just don’t get with a plain modern band. 🤌🏼

Wear her as a wedding band, an anniversary ring, or simply because you rather fancy wearing a little row of stars on your finger. ✨

Deep, rich red. Buttery old gold. And all those gorgeous little details that make vintage jewellery so special. 🤌🏼

She’s giving crisp mornings, fallen leaves and cosy knits… only considerably more sparkly. ✨

A proper statement ring for the season ahead, although personally, I’d be wearing her all year round.

Ceylon is the former name of Sri Lanka, a place celebrated for its gemstones for centuries and the name Ceylon sapphire is still very much used in the jewellery world today.

Drop Three has officially landed and she’s a GOOD one. 🤌🏼

Think diamonds, old gold, beautiful settings, a rather spectacular flash of blue 💎 and some seriously special vintage treasures.

This is the third and final drop from all the pieces I’ve been busy sourcing since coming back from my little break… and I’m rather pleased with how this one turned out. 🥹✨

Everything is one of a kind, so once it’s gone, it really is gone.
