CHRC SHOW SUMMARY - Saturday 3rd October 2026
Horses
The sun came out and for an October day, it was rather warm. Luckily, the flies weren't out too much and although very quiet, I think all competitors came away smiling. Our Sincere Thanks to our lovely Judge Alison Marriot for travelling the distance and an added diversion or two, to come and Judge for us today. I'm sure all the Competitors loved the Judge's comments made in the ring today and will no doubt be back to put them into action at future shows.
Dogs
Well, what a fantastic turnout of some absolutely adorable dogs, most of which would've fitted into my car boot to bring home, however, I don't think they'd get the lovely welcome from my own dog being a very jealous individual and I'd hate to have a load of hurt owners in the process. From puppies to golden oldies, all the dogs settled well considering some individuals were extremely nervous. Listening to the background stories for some of the Rescue/Rehome dogs made for a very humbling 20 mins to say the least. Finally, the Best in Show went to the adorable dog known as 'Boysie' to his owner whom outshone in the Best Fancy Dress Class with his interpretation of a doubledecker burger. Bless, his little legs kept getting lost in the grass and I swear he doubled in width dramatically in a matter of minutes.
Thank you all once again for your continued support. Don't forget to check out the Photographers website (Beyond The Field Photography) for the pics of the day.
The last horse show of the 2026 show season will be on Sunday 18th October 2026, followed by our General Meeting (open to all) on the evening of Saturday 24th October 2026 - 7pm till 9pm at Barkers' Butts Rugby Club, Pickford Grange Lane, Allesley, (nr Meriden) CV5 9AR. Come and have your say as to the future of CHRC and with a bit of luck, a Committee will be voted in at the end of the evening.
