Sofa Sunday!

What are you doing this sunny cold November Sunday?

Perfect day for getting outside and soaking up a bit of sunshine while we can?
Then home to a cosy house, and hopefully finding time amongst all the jobs, for a snuggle on the sofa.

Ever thought about creating your own throws or blankets, to match your decor and add a bit of winter glam to these colder days.

It's all about soft textures to add warmth and comfort.

Thank you so much for the page follow! I'm excited to share my love of sewing, and my journey back into the land of interiors! 😄
It will fit nicely around all my other creative stuff, now I have more time to give it.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Julie and I've been sewing since I was a young teenager, inspired by my Grandma, Dorothy (or more affectionately known as Doff).
I began sewing in my tiny bedroom, using old curtains to make into clothes as well as altering all my charity shop finds into something unusual. 😍

I took this love to the next level, leaving school at 16 for college to do a BTEC in fashion design, following on to Art college to study costume for the stage and screen.

This led to a fabulous and exciting 10 years working in TV and Film costume departments, on some very popular shows with high profile actors.

Then meeting my soon to be husband, I left the big smoke for a more rural life in Bedfordshire, where no TV industry existed unless I wanted to travel, so I turned my sewing skills into a whole new world of interiors. 🤩

And here we are! a few wonderful distractions along the way, including 2 children, a couple of cats, and 10 years teaching yoga to children in schools, but always some kind of sewing going on somewhere.

So there you have it! A potted history.
