Buying a gift usually requires a lovely card and a handwritten message to go with it, so here I am bringing you four birthday card designs.

🌸 1: Is it 100% Soy?

Don’t let a “soy blend” label trick you. Usually, that’s just marketing speak for a candle that’s mostly paraffin with a tiny bit of soy mixed in. If you want a clean, slow burn and a house that doesn’t feel heavy with soot, look for labels that say 100% natural soy wax.

🌸 2: Fragrance vs. Essential Oils

I know “essential oils” sound better, but they aren’t always meant to be burned. Some are not stable when heated to high temperatures and can even release toxins when they hit a high flame. To avoid the “candle headache” and keep your air clean, look for high-quality, phthalate-free fragrance oils. If a brand uses essential oils, make sure they’re a trusted pro who knows which oils are actually safe for high-heat diffusion.

🌸 3: The “Non-Toxic” Marketing Trap

“Non-toxic” is just a buzzword at this point. It’s not regulated, so anyone can put it on a label. Please look for transparency instead. You want to see Paraben-Free and Phthalate-Free specifically. If a brand is being a bit more secretive about what’s in their wax, they might be hiding cheap additives. 😉

I’m Elena, for those of you who are new here. I’m the one behind Soyc.endless, making every single candle for my small dream-brand right here in Musselburgh. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Sometimes it’s easy to forget who is behind the screen, so I wanted to say hello! I’m the maker, the photographer, the packer, and the voice you hear in this space. I want Soyc.endless to be more than just a candle shop; I want it to be your go-to space for:

The Spring Awakening has arrived. March 1st marks the beginning of a new rhythm - as the days get longer and the light gets brighter, our home rituals are shifting too.
