A month of lessons & little moments . . .

Looking back, I hadn’t realised just how much of this month I’ve spent absorbed in business life.

October started with a couple of family birthdays & ended with a lovely evening spent together. Plus some amazing news for my youngest ✨.
Sometimes, the little things really are the big things, especially when life hasn’t always made them possible.

And finally getting to meet up with Inky Pickles was just what I needed (she paints the most stunning designs on a lot of the shop windows locally, plus she loves red & pink together too so there’s a lot to love! ❤️🩷).

But one minute, it was full on autumn makes, now I’m in the midst of Christmas chaos. As much as I love what I do, I’ve definitely put too much pressure on myself lately. And somewhere along the way, I’ve forgotten to make time for some of the simple things that bring me joy.

I know November is going to be just as busy, but if October has taught me anything, it’s that finding a better balance is something I need to work on next year.

The best-laid plans . . .

I do love a plan. And I’m usually pretty good at sticking to one . . . until I get into creative mode & the sensible part of me forgets about any kind of plan!

I think that’s pretty normal when you’re a creative person (we’re just wired a bit differently 😉) & your head is brimming with ideas that you need to do NOW! There’s always something else I want to try, something I could do differently or that thing that suddenly seems like the best idea at completely the wrong time.

So here’s a little glimpse behind the scenes of Christmas prep at Kenzie Gabe & Co. HQ (it’s actually much, much worse than it looks 🫣).

✨ Anyone else find their best-laid plans go out the window as soon as a touch of inspiration strikes? . . .

One month in . . . ✨

Sometimes a little bit of frustration & feeling like you want to give up can be just the push you didn’t know you needed.

It’s strange to think that something I could never, ever envisage myself doing has turned out to be one of my best business decisions ✨.

And the biggest surprise (& relief!) has been how much less I find myself worrying & stressing about Instagram. The numbers, the reach, the constant pressure I was putting on myself to keep going & keep up . . . It all feels much more manageable now & I’m barely looking at the numbers!

It’s still early days for the website - this version is almost like my first draft! There’s still lots of little ideas that I’ve got that I’d love to bring to life in the new year. But for now, I’m just enjoying having a space of my own where I can share what I love creating.
