The big question . . .

For me, this has never been about the numbers or the sales or being seen. But once I began posting more regularly on social media, it seemed to matter more than it should. To the point that there have been times that I’ve wondered whether it’s all worth it. The stress, the imposter syndrome, the not feeling good enough have all been magnified.

I could just carry on doing my own thing & not share anything on here, but by doing so, its opened up opportunities & connections. I’ve met some of the loveliest people that I am now blessed to call friends. And it feels truly heartwarming to feel part of such a supportive creative community ❤️.

What Kenzie Gabe & Co. symbolises to me goes far deeper than any numbers ever could. It’s about me, my journey, my family.

So yes - of course I’d still be creating special keepsakes even if nobody was watching. And I might feel less stressed about getting it right too 🤪.

✨ Would you still do this if no one was watching?

Supporting small businesses . . . 💙

I don’t know about you, but I find buying for men so hard. I either get ‘don’t get me anything’, ‘I don’t need anything’, ‘you choose’ or something that I’ve never heard of, no idea what it is & wouldn’t have a clue where to get it from!

I thought I can’t be on my own here, so if you have any small businesses that you’d recommend for the perfect cards & gifts, drop them in the comments & hopefully our ‘hardest person to buy for’ shopping will be a whole lot easier this year!

🥸 Just in case anyone needs a little reminder . . . Father’s Day in the UK is on Sunday 21st June.

(I’ve really struggled doing an all blue post . . . No pink allowed on this one 🤪).

The two sides to life . . .

Never in a million years did I think I’d be sharing all that I do or showing my face on here . . . I like to just keep things to myself. But I’ve come to realise that I need to push myself & share my work otherwise nothing will ever come of it.

But one thing that I will always do is show up honestly & authentically, because that’s just me . . . and that’s not generally what you get with social media. Life isn’t perfect, we don’t all have perfectly made up faces & nails, we don’t all have perfectly tidy show homes or idyllic cottages set in acres of woodland for perfect photo shoots.

And things do go wrong (quite often in my world!). Trying to navigate the whole small business journey is far more complicated than I ever could have imagined & I really do admire all of those who run small businesses, particularly those where it is just one single person doing it all. 🩷

✨ Next time you support a small business, just remember that for all that you see, there will be so much more that you don’t see that makes that small business what it is.

When doubts turn into something pretty special 🩷 . . .

Saying yes to this one was the perfect opportunity to push myself & try something new. I like a challenge, especially when it involves the tiniest prettiest pink dried flowers! 🌸

As with every new piece, it can involve LOTS of trial & error & problem solving, but I think that’s when I’m at my best, trying new techniques, creating things I didn’t think I was capable of. I had no idea whether I would be happy with this & whether it would meet my high standards . . . But it’s definitely one of my favourite pieces I’ve ever created & I feel pretty proud of this one 🩷.

It’s now arrived at its new home all ready to be gifted to the most beautiful baby girl 🩷 . . . Can’t wait to show you the finished piece on Friday.

✨ Does anyone else find it hard saying they feel proud of their work? I’m working on it but it feels very unnatural 🥺

Literally wearing my heart on my sleeve . . . 🩷

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know just how important my tiny little business is to me - the reason behind why it exists & the significance & meaning of the name. (You’ll also know that I hate doing talking videos but I’m trying to keep pushing myself out of my comfort zone & this very special piece deserved its own little spotlight).

I can’t tell you just how much I love my cardigan & how much it means 🩷. I more or less knew what I wanted, but Emma has been amazing at bringing it all to life. The detail, the colours, the finish are all just perfect. And it complements my Kenzie Gabe & Co. sign from lovely Lorraine so well too.

This will be my forever favourite piece of clothing - something to treasure, a piece that holds so much love & meaning 🩷.

And a real reminder of the beauty of small businesses & why supporting them often means more than you’ll ever know.
Thank you Emma 🩷 (I can feel a winter jumper being requested 🤪).

Let me know your thoughts on buttons - I’ll add a few different ideas onto my stories.

✨ I’d love to know if you have a special piece of clothing that holds real sentimental value or special memories?
