This is the first sketchbook page I have started using The Herons Handbook as a reference.

I was so excited to find this book in a second hand book shop recently, and also excited to start with the biggest (and my favorite) species of heron in the world.

With over 60 species in the book, there will be plenty more heron drawings to come!

PUFFINS! 🐧🪶🌊

I recently had an exciting day visiting the Farmers Islands in Northumberland - a bucket list bird day for a bird nerd like me!! 🛥️

I couldn't believe how close we got to the birds and how many we saw... So it was also really fun getting to use my own photos as references for this sketchbook page 📸 🖌️
