How simple shelf styling adds character to your home……

✨ A little hotel-chic bed styling tip from Calm Interiors ✨

Want that beautifully calm, luxurious hotel feel at home? It’s all in the layering. 🤍

Start with fresh, crisp white bedding and make sure your duvet is beautifully smooth. Then fold the duvet over twice from the top to create that soft, generous layered look.

Keep your pillow arrangement simple — two plump cushions at the back and one lumbar cushion in front. Less is often more when you’re creating a calm, sophisticated bedroom.

Finally, add warmth with soft bedside lighting. Matching lamps on either side of the bed instantly create symmetry and that cosy, boutique-hotel atmosphere.

For this lovely client, I took care of the whole room transformation — from the initial ideas right through to the finishing touches.

Carefully selecting pieces that work beautifully together, complement the space and create that relaxed, timeless feel.

🎨 Limewash Walls
One of my absolute favourite ways to transform a room! Limewash creates a soft, beautifully textured finish that catches the light differently throughout the day. It adds depth, warmth and character without feeling harsh or flat like a traditional painted wall.

The subtle movement and natural variation of limewash can make a room feel so much more atmospheric, cocooning and luxurious — and it works particularly beautifully in a calm, neutral scheme. 🤍

🖤 Styling & Making the Most of What You Already Have
You don’t always need to replace everything to completely change the feel of a room.

For this project, we utilised her existing black KALLAX unit and gave it a whole new look through styling. By carefully choosing what went on and around it, adding beautiful accessories, books, baskets, artwork and decorative pieces, it became a really lovely feature within the room rather than something that needed to be hidden or replaced.

It’s amazing what a little thought, styling and rearranging can do — sometimes it’s not about buying more, but making better use of what you already have. ✨

Sadly, my wonderful dad became very poorly and recently passed away, so I’ve taken some time away to be with my family and process everything.
