We have 5 x Muerqo makers kits and 5 x Box Bag maker kits which we’d like to donate to two good causes. It needs to be within the UK due to postage (which we will cover the cost of).
This could be a Community Improvement Company, charitable sewing group, school, children’s sewing group etc. Any kind of organised sewing group offering classes to those who need them (perhaps for mental health/learning new skills to return to work etc).
These makers kits include all the materials you need to make the bags, barring the sewing machine.

We’re doing things a little differently with this giveaway… and we’d love your help! ❤️

We have 5 x Muerqo Maker Kits and 5 x Box Bag Maker Kits to donate, and we want them to go to two amazing causes in the UK.

We’re looking for nominations for organised sewing groups that support their communities, this could be:

🧵 A Community Interest Company
🧵 A charitable sewing group
🧵 A school or community project
🧵 A children’s sewing group
🧵 A group offering sewing classes to people who could really benefit from them
🧵 Or any other organised sewing group helping people learn new skills, build confidence, connect with others, support their wellbeing or perhaps gain skills to help them return to work.

So, who deserves one?

We know many of you will have attended a group like this, volunteered with one, donated to one, or simply heard about the wonderful work they do.

👉 We want YOU to nominate them!

Tell us about a fantastic sewing group in the UK that you think would benefit from these kits and why they deserve to be chosen. 💕 We can’t wait to hear about all the amazing, supportive groups doing brilliant things in their communities.

And the best bit? We’ll cover the postage too! 📦

Each Maker Kit contains everything needed to make the bags, apart from a sewing machine, so the winning groups can get straight to creating.

Available now! 🌟

You all loved the project pouch We designed a couple of years ago and many requested a smaller version with double pockets….. well, here you go! 😃

We’re calling it the colouring pouch as it’s perfect for pens and pencils and colouring in books and paper and they’re already well loved by the little ones in our family (and Adam’s sister too 😆). But they’re also great for the smaller projects you’re doing too.

At this point we all know I hate binding 🤣
I will try any way to make it more enjoyable!
And this is what I have done whilst designing our newest pattern. (If you’re a quilter, you’ll know this technique well already!)

I’ve included this method in the full tutorial so you can have a go at doing it this way too.
AND the newest pattern will be free so you can have a go at no cost 🙌🏼

Don’t keep it a secret any more! 😆
If you’re quite capable with binding, tell us what you’re doing 😃
This week we’ve been focussing on binding.
On Sunday we have a new free pattern coming out that has a little bit of binding on it 😉 The perfect opportunity to practice your skills and maybe start loving it? 😅

Here’s how I do it:
Use thick waterproof canvas (20oz) cut in to 1 1/8” strips.
(I find WPC doesn’t slip as much as traditional cotton binding tape.)
Wrap it around the seam and sew once.
I find this method gives me a neat finish and it saves me having to sew the binding on twice!
Look at the shape and structure it gives the bag at the end!
