A bespoke stable door designed to feel perfectly at home in this traditional stone setting.

Built from engineered hardwood for strength and stability, finished with the Renner Coatings spray system in Farrow & Ball’s “Lichen” for a timeless, durable surface.

Fitted with a Winkhaus multipoint locking system and pewter furniture from From The Anvil, combining modern security with heritage-inspired detailing.

Every material and proportion was carefully considered to create a piece that balances practicality, longevity, and design integrity.

A door designed to blend seamlessly with this period home — with a hidden detail that sets it apart.

At first glance, it appears as a single solid door. Look closer, and you’ll see it’s a stable opening, offering flexibility without compromising on character.

I wire-brushed the timber to draw out its natural grain and texture, then layered a deep black stain to highlight every detail. A carefully hand-rubbed sand and an oiled finish gives the surface a rich, dark oak tone that feels timeless against the stonework.

Every element of this piece was considered to complement its setting — balancing practicality with heritage charm.
