It started with a pencil sketch of flowers representing the client’s grandparents and ended up as a bespoke set of mugs and a cake stand for a big birthday.

A | LITTLE | BREAK | FROM | POTTERY

It was my 50th birthday this year, and I wanted to mark the occasion by completing a little challenge. On 2 August I will be swimming 4km across Rutland Water and I need your help to complete the distance: from as little as 10p you can sponsor 1 metre; £1 for 10 metres, a tenner gets me 100m closer to the finishing line.

If you can spare a few pounds, please sponsor me. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference to the Community Fridge and will give me one more reason to keep putting one arm in front of the other.

For the sweet peas, the cosmos, the garden snippings you couldn't bear to leave outside, and the wonky little stems that somehow end up being your favourites.

A few flowers, a jam jar, an old bottle, a tiny vase — suddenly everything looks intentional.

Handmade in my Oakham Studio and Shop and ready for a summer full of flowers.

Yes, I do! Capture the delicate nature of seasonal blooms in a practical and useful item. Arrange and imprint fresh and dried flowers onto a pre-rolled slab of clay, and choose from a number of cutters to make up to 4 coasters.

This 2-hour workshop comes with step-by-step instructions and a fully qualified instructor (Connie Taylor), so even if you are a complete novice, you can get fully 'stuck in' and enjoy the process. All tools and materials are provided, as well as two firings and glazes and tea/coffee, and biscuits.

Join our hosts Adam and Cris from fōrm&blōm at their beautiful space on 17a Mill Street in Oakham. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels.

5 | YEARS | IN | OAKHAM

Five years ago, I opened Connie Taylor Ceramics Studio and Shop in the heart of Oakham. Big ideas. Tiny budget. Clay everywhere. Somehow, this little high street studio grew into something bigger than I ever imagined. A space full of creativity, community, and beautifully quirky pots.

I’m so grateful. For every order. Every like, share, and chat in the shop. You’ve shaped this journey more than you know. Growth hasn’t always been tidy (neither is my wheel), but it’s always been worth it.

Five years in. Still learning. Still making. Still covered in clay. And still loving it 🤍

IT | ONLY | TOOK | YEARS...

This is a design I've been making for serval years, and like all my other table ware it is suitable for the dishwasher and microwave.

Up until now, it hasn't had a name, and when I unloaded this batch from the kiln, it came to me!
