Well it's been a while since I've posted anything other than stories. I've been busy trying to make pieces for a gas firing and a wood firing, so double the amount of work in less than the usual amount of time. What I'm really excited about are jars. Jars with turned wooden lids by .devon . These ones were in last months collection and I love the mix of pottery and wood. I've also made some teapots, which will have wooden lids too, very exciting!

There are so many stages to pottery after the piece has been thrown on the wheel, that's the quickest part. After throwing (or hand building) comes turning, decoration, drying, bisque firing, glazing, stoneware firing, photographing, uploading to the website. It's a lot and you've got to love it. Luckily I still do, it's been about eight years doing this full time and I still love it like I did back then.

The sh0p is now open to all! I hope you enjoy it, I'm really happy with this month's collection.

I'm sorry about the small delay in the email getting sent out! I have it automated to send out but I think because there are quite a few of you on the mailing list now, it took its time so I appreciate your patience!

Remember this? Well here's the finished Sungold Tomato Platter. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Tomatoes are my favourite thing to grow, they turn out best grown in pots against my south facing studio wall. Sungold tomatoes are the sweetest and are such a wonderful colour. Available tomorrow! It will be hard to part with this one.

Green. The colour of spring, it's everywhere. New leaves and lush grass, garden plants going mad. These are some green pieces fresh out for the kiln and will be up for grabs on Thursday in my sh0p update! What are your favourite colours? Mine are earth colours and of course, green.

Some rounded cups from last month's work. I stupidly forgot to make them this month. I had prepared all the clay to make them and then got carried away and turned them all onto tapered mugs! Oh well. I'm glazing today and tomorrow, I'm looking forward to the next batch of work that includes some new stencil designs.

I love this little pear. Glazed in shino and sprinkled with ash from my studio wood burner. Warm peaches and olive greens. I've been thinking about making other fruit but I can't really think of anything as good as a pottery pear. Suggestions welcomed!

My favourite tomatoes are sungold tomatoes. We grow them every year and they are abundant and super sweet and the most beautiful golden orange colour. So onto a platter they have gone! The peeling of my stencils is the most satisfying thing I do so I filmed it for you. I'm looking forward to glazing and firing the Sungold Platter, hopefully it lives up to its name. πŸ…
