So! ✨ I've been a busy bee for the last few months... 🐝 it felt a bit tragic that mum's collections of paintings were just sat at home never meeting anyone's eyes other than her own...

It was always her intention to get the work out, she even set up an etsy called "Spirit by Linda" 8 years ago... but she sadly passed in 2023 and that never came true for her...so I felt the urge to step in with it. 🌌🔮🎨

So here we have it! "Spirit by Linda" is up and running. Reproductions of all her incredible paintings, all super affordable (+ free shipping), made to order and available in any size - from a postcard print to a replica masterpiece like the original canvas! 🖼️

In a pursuit to explore her interests in all things spirit, she produced various collections including the Divine Feminine/Goddess Series, Tribal Shamanic Series and Spirit Animal Series. To add, alongside the artworks are a collection of curated jewellery sets, which like the art series, explore different mystical themes ranging from the "Nefertiti (Epgytian jewellery collection), the "Solstice (pagan jewellery collection), "Wicca", "Tribal" and so on. Other accessories and fashions are available.

I must thank North Wales Paganfest for letting me do my first ever stall, and it was the perfect base to begin! Everyone was so friendly and kind, and seeing her work resonate with so many people simply meant the world to me. 🥹🌞🦋 Also seeing the curated jewellery on the spread going to the right homes. It felt so good!

There's much more info on the Etsy about the different pieces and collections. Setting this up was such a beautiful process, and also discovering the meaning behind each painting had me awe-struck. I'm very proud of my mum, and it's clear she very much lives on through the magic she's created here...

The Spirit of Linda 🦋

Linda Nicholas (16 November 1960 - 23 January 2023) was a remarkable painter, poet, novelist, and mother. Born in Barnsley in South Yorkshire, for the last 23 years Linda was based locally in Aughton where she produced most of her beautiful work.

Commercially, she had spent over 15 years as a scenic artist and stage designer in many repertory theatres around the UK, including Bristol Old Vic and Chester Gateway Theatre. Used to tackling large-scale artwork, she was later involved in numerous mural projects for homes, hospitals, schools and shopping centres. She single-handedly painted the classic-style murals in the Manchester Traffic Centre main foyer and the walkway of Barton Square.

More recently, Linda decided to focus her attention on her own creative pursuits, avidly exploring her esoteric interests in the “spirit”. Since 2016, she has produced numerous collections, focussing particularly portraiture using acrylic. Outside of painting, Linda had also completed her second novel ‘Lucid’ by the end of 2022, not long before her passing, accompanied by 12 intricate illustrations which explore the deeper themes of life, time and existence through dream.

Linda had created her etsy page "Spirit by Linda" 8 years ago, however she was too busy using her precious time well and creating these beautiful pieces. Spending hours and hours on each artwork, it was always her intention to share her beautiful work with the world. Despite no longer being with us, she very much lives on through these timeless pieces, all of which are imbued with the wisdom of ancient cultures, as well as her own insightful poetry.

Explore all her collections, from the "Divine Feminine" range to the "Tribal Shamanic" series. Each artwork is available as either a premium Giclée fine art print (using vivid archival inks on museum grade papers) or canvas prints (reproductions of the original artworks painted with acrylic on canvas). Available sizes are varied, from A5 to A1 - perfect as small gifts or large art pieces. Prices are reasonably low to cover free shipping and cover costs to make! All items are made to order.

🖼️ “Demeter and Persephone“ is part of The Divine Feminine Collection painted in 2020 by late British fine artist Linda Nicholas (1960–2023).

The ancient Greek myth of Demeter and Persephone explains the seasons, featuring Hades abducting Persephone, daughter of the harvest goddess Demeter. Demeter’s intense grief caused barren winters, while her joy at Persephone's part-year return brought spring. Persephone became Queen of the Underworld after eating pomegranate seeds.

Originally painted in acrylic on canvas, each print is carefully reproduced to preserve the richness, detail, and spirit of the original work.

Masterful in her technical ability, Linda Nicholas built a career spanning scenic art, costume, and stage design across UK repertory theatres, including Bristol Old Vic, before completing large-scale mural commissions such as the classical Renaissance paintings at the Trafford Centre. Later in life she dedicated her time to her own creative pursuits, avidly exploring her esoteric interests in the “spirit”.
