For the walls, we went with a crisp, modern split-wall design using top-tier finishes that are safe and long-lasting for a baby's room:

Upper Wall & Ceiling: Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt in brilliant white for a clean, smooth, and light-reflecting finish.

Lower Wall: Dulux Easycare in the stunning, calming shade Jungle Beats 4.
Using premium quality paint in a nursery is essential. Dulux Easycare is specially formulated to repel stains and resist scuffs, making it incredibly durable and easy to clean without ruining the beautiful matte finish.

🧼 Style That's Built to Last (and Wipe!)

The real showstopper here is the gorgeous animal feature wall. For parents, this 'Abstract Animals' paper isn't just cute—it’s incredibly practical because it is completely wipeable and washable. When those inevitable sticky fingers, scuffs, or rogue crayon marks appear as the little one grows, a gentle wipe down is all it takes to keep the room looking brand new.

✨ Beautiful Nursery Transformation! ✨

I absolutely loved bringing this nursery vision to life. To create the stylish split-wall effect, I used the gorgeous Dulux Heritage in 'Dusted Heather' on the lower half , wich is a toughened wipable paint to counter act those sticky fingers, paired with a crisp, clean Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt White on top to keep the space feeling bright and airy.

To complete the look, I hung this fantastic hot air balloon wallpaper on the feature wall. The best part? It’s completely wipeable—an absolute must-have for any little one’s room! 🧽🎈

📸 Before & After: Garage Transformation!

There is nothing better than restoring tired, weathered exterior surfaces and giving a home some serious curb appeal. This garage was in desperate need of some professional attention, and the results speak for themselves!

Here is how I took this door from flaking and rusted to a sleek, modern finish:

🛠️ The Prep Work

With exterior metal, you can't skip the groundwork. We gave the garage door a thorough prep sequence:

☆ Scraped back all the loose, flaking old blue paint.
☆ Sanded down the rusted patches to ensure a sound, smooth substrate.
☆ Cleaned and degreased the entire surface so the new coatings could bond perfectly.

🎨 The Finish & Products Used

The Door: Coated in Hammerite Ultima Garage Door Paint. This stuff provides a highly durable, weather-resistant barrier with excellent color retention, ensuring it stays looking sharp for years to come.

The Walls/Masonry: Refreshed using Dulux Trade Weathershield in Slate Grey. It provides ultimate protection against the elements while giving the surrounding structure a clean, contemporary look that frames the door perfectly.

From a dated 90s blue to a fresh, breezy sanctuary! 🌊✨

This project was a true test of patience and elbow grease, but the results speak for themselves. I took this room back to basics to ensure a flawless finish.

Here’s a look at the journey from "woodchip nightmare" to "Ocean Ripple" dreams.

The Process

1. The Strip:
I tackled the ultimate DIY boss—woodchip on the ceiling and layers of old wallpaper on the walls.

2.Surface Prep:
To get those walls "like new," I applied 💫Dalapro Roll Nova💫 (absolute game changer for consistency), followed by meticulous filling.

3.The Sanding:
I didn’t take shortcuts here every single inch sanded to ensure a perfectly smooth substrate.

4.The Ceiling:
To get that crisp, professional look, I applied wallrock fiber line lining paper to the ceiling before finishing.

5.🎨 The Finishing Touches
* Walls:*Dulux Light & Space in "Ocean Ripple."This shade is perfect for reflecting light and making the space feel twice as big.

*Woodwork:* I transitioned that dark brown wood into the 21st century using Dulux Uni-Primer, followed by Dulux Trade Satinwood for a durable, elegant sheen.

*Ceiling:* Finished with Dulux Supermatt for a flat, clean, non-reflective glow.

*Smiths Tip* If you're painting over old brown wood, don't skip the Uni-Primer. It’s the secret to making sure your topcoat actually stays put!
