Hi I'm Sarah the hand spinner and fibre artist behind Penberth Yarns. I am lucky to live in beautiful West Cornwall, in the gorgeous Penberth Valley. From my farmhouse studio I create a range of handspun yarns, spinning fibres and hand dyed yarns which are inspired by the beauty of Cornwall, my love of nature and the world around me. Happy Halloween 🎃 👻 I’m spending my day working on my Westknits Mystery MusiKal Shawl (I’m still on Clue 3) and watching spooky movies! What’s your favourite scary movie? I love the Halloween movies as well as Bram Stokers Dracula the one with Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder. Talking of Winona, we’re currently trying to watch all the Stranger Things series before the new one drops at the end of November. Hope everyone has a terrifying night!

Yay, my Stephen and Penelope Flaming Berries kit for the Mystery MusiKAL has arrived early! I’m just loving the colours more now I have seen them up close. The ball of Glowhair is super soft and squishy. More skeins to wind into balls now and double the fun!

Balls of yarn wound and knitting in progress. Not sure Smokey is impressed by my colour choices for the Mystery MusiKAL. Actually I have done a bit of stash diving so I could cast on Clue 1 which dropped today. I ordered a kit last week and it doesn’t arrive until Monday so I am probably going to end up with two on the go.

Finally it’s October my favourite month where I get to snuggle up with my knitting, watch some scary movies and my fave murder mystery shows. My goals for this October are to knit lots of socks and join in a KAL or two as I recover from a recent fall which has bruised my ribs and made moving limited to short walks and sitting on the sofa. This is my latest sock cast on using West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply in Purple Emperor.
