I'm heading to Madderty Hall this weekend for Rooted Textiles

Happy Monday folks, it’s Sustainable Fashion Week and the Rooted Textiles festival is THIS Sunday! We can’t wait to welcome you all for a day filled with craft and community 🍁

We are delighted to share that Highland Perthshire author Polly Pullar will be joining us at the festival this weekend ✨

Polly is a naturalist, conservationist, photographer and writer, based on a small farm in Highland Perthshire. With life-long experience, she specialises in countryside and farm life.

Her new book, In the Company of Sheep, published by Birlinn, “reveals the fascinating world of sheep culture, emphasising the importance of shepherds, crofters, farmers and their flocks as the backbone of a vital way of rural life. As she travels the country from Dartmoor to Shetland, she encounters a whole range of native and primitive breeds perfectly suited to the diverse habitats of the British Isles. Her vivid descriptions of the animals, and those who care for them, reveal exactly why sheep matter and how with careful management, it is possible to restore habitat alongside an animal that has played a key part of agricultural life throughout Britain for thousands of years.”

Find Polly in the festival marketplace. A wonderful chance to meet the author, have a chat and pick up a copy of her new book celebrating the wonderfulness of sheep! 💚
