On the plinth next to me in my last post you can just see a few of these bud vases - the first pieces I made for this show. My first time using these I was so surprised when I opened the kiln to find them interconnected - like water moving to hug a spoon, the lava glaze had reached out and touched the pot next to it, creating these awesome geomorphological-like features. A couple of them stayed connected for a while but in the end they all separated, leaving behind little craggy extensions as evidence of their touch points.
The interaction between these pieces was what inspired the wall hanging pieces (behind me on the last post) which came next.photography took these incredible photos and I made this first one into my new postcards because it felt like such a moment. That’s why I love working towards an exhibition like this, it’s a little line in the sand, to look back and connect the dots.

I called my workshops ‘Clay & Gather’ because it perfectly captures what I hope to offer - the combined joy of working with clay and gathering together ❤️
I truly believe there’s something transformative in both; creativity, making by hand, working with clay… alongside community, connection, and shared experience. Small things that can make a real difference to our health and happiness.

H E L L O S P R I N G
I always feel like this is much more of a new year moment than January. Lots of exciting newness for me this Spring, coinciding beautifully with a big birthday, loving the new chapter timing 👌
1 - These gorgeous new postcards are everything I hoped for… I wanted something which felt like a piece of art in and of itself, thank you .photography for the image of dreams for exactly that, I’m in love with this shot. Super excited to be able to write that workshops are a part of my offering now 📣
2 - All ready to go on the sgraffito/carving pilot workshop night… a gorgeous little event which not only helped me prep for launching but also made me think that these lovely evenings would be perfect as private parties too. I’ll be hosting one of these workshops on Tuesday 21st April, bookings via my website - www.roxybanks.com - on the new C L A Y & G A T H E R page
3 - A new addition to my collection - to go cups. These will be shoppable on my website very soon 👀
4 - The full range of blues in ‘to go’ form, I just need to source some more colours for the silicone lids, loving the black with the deep blue, thinking maybe grey for the others..? 💙🤍
5 - A couple of french butter crocks which I’ve just added them to my website, along with some other new pieces and a much procrastinated but finally finished full update of product photos in the shop
6 - A serendipitous photo op to mark the start of a new decade, excited for all the things on my ‘manifesting for my forties’ list ✨

Delivering my first custom wholesale order ✨

Relaunching this Autumn/Winter has been a heady mix of emotions. Without intending to, life events and grief made for a lengthy break from my small business and I wasn’t quite sure where to start rebuilding.
I feel very blessed to be surrounded by the most incredible community, people who show up for me in so many ways, big and small, and could never know how much it means.
I’ve been welcomed back with open arms to a fantastic market season, new orders from OG customers, new connections with lovely locals and now this awesome way to top off the year with a big tick off the goal list and a beautiful moment to toast to new beginnings. I love a circular story and this postcard I keep pinned up in my studio is a message my sister gave me, my biggest cheerleader, to begin ❤️
