This fresh wreath is made with holly, ivy, pine cones, dried oranges and lotus heads, finished with a rich red bow for a traditional festive look.
I love working with natural materials at Christmas and creating wreaths that feel full, seasonal and a little bit different from the mass-produced ones you see everywhere.

A little behind-the-scenes from the workshop today 🌿

I’m starting to get everything prepared for the busy Christmas season ahead, which means lots of greenery, lots of wiring, and plenty of time at the workbench.

This is the less polished side of floristry — gloves on, foliage everywhere, boxes filling up and materials gradually being prepared ready for wreaths, workshops and Christmas markets.

There’s something I really enjoy about this stage though. It’s repetitive, practical and quite calming, and it’s lovely seeing all the individual bits slowly turn into something finished.

The pumpkin is now on display at Bees Country Kitchen! 🎃🍂

I’ve dropped off this autumnal pumpkin arrangement at Bees Country Kitchen ahead of our workshop, so you can now pop in and see the sort of design you’ll be creating on the evening.
We’ll be working with a real pumpkin, seasonal flowers, foliage, berries and autumn textures to create your own arrangement to take home.

And we’re making a proper evening of it too — your ticket includes a huge hot & cold savoury graze table plus sweet treats, and it’s BYOB for alcohol. 🥂

Come with a friend, your mum, sister or partner — or come along on your own for a cosy couple of hours of flowers, food and good company.

A little look behind the scenes… 🌿

There’s always a lot more prep that goes into workshops and market stock than you see in the finished pieces.

Today I’m sorting and wiring natural materials ready for the coming weeks — cedar roses, lotus heads, pine cones and all the little details that will eventually make their way onto wreaths and into workshop decoration bars.

It might not look very glamorous at this stage, but this is where it all starts. 🍂

And because not every bit of prep needs to feel like hard work, I’m doing it with a hot cup of tea and catching up on All Creatures Great and Small in the background. Very much my kind of afternoon. ☕️

I’m trying to get as much prepared in advance as possible before Christmas really gets into full swing, especially with workshops and market weekends coming up.

It gives a good idea of the kind of seasonal look we’ll be working towards, using autumn foliage, berries, pine cones, seed heads and other natural materials.

🍂 Autumn wreath season is here! 🍂

This is one of my favourite things about this time of year — taking all those beautiful autumn colours, textures and natural materials and turning them into something you can enjoy at home.

I made this wreath as the display piece for my upcoming Autumn Wreath Workshop at The Garden Terrace, and I’m really pleased with how all those rich reds, oranges, berries, foliage, pine cones and seed heads have come together. 🤎
At the workshop, I’ll guide everyone through creating their own autumn wreath step by step.

You don’t need any floristry experience — it’s about having a relaxed, creative time, learning something new and going home with something you’ve made yourself.

Please note: wreaths made on the night won’t look exactly like this one, as seasonal materials may vary and everyone will create their own unique design. No two wreaths are ever quite the same, which is part of the fun. 🍁

Christmas prep is officially underway… 🎄🌿

I’ve been to the wholesalers this morning stocking up ready for what is shaping up to be a very busy festive season!

Over the next couple of months I’ll be getting everything ready for cosy Christmas wreath workshops, building up all the lovely bits and pieces for my workshop decoration bars, preparing wreaths and festive makes, and getting organised for three busy Christmas market weekends too.

There’s a lot to do behind the scenes before December arrives, but I’m a firm believer that a little preparation now makes for a much calmer Christmas later! ✨

So the boxes are coming out, the ribbons are multiplying, the dried oranges and pine cones are taking over, and Christmas at Carys Ainsworth Floristry is very much beginning. 🤍

Fancy a cosy autumn night out with a difference? 🎃🍂

Join me at Bees Country Kitchen for an evening of flowers, food, creativity and good company at our Autumn Floral Pumpkin Arrangement Workshop.

You’ll create your own beautiful seasonal pumpkin arrangement to take home, filled with gorgeous autumn flowers, foliage and texture — and you don’t need any floristry experience at all.

And it’s not just about the flowers…

There’ll be a huge hot and cold savoury graze table, followed by sweet treats, so you can really make an evening of it.

Bring your friends. Bring your mum, sister, daughter or partner. Come as a group, or come on your own and enjoy a relaxed evening with other people.

It’s BYOB for alcohol, so bring your favourite bottle, and hot drinks and soft drinks will be available to buy on the night.

Think cosy autumn evening, lovely food, beautiful flowers, something creative to switch your brain off for a couple of hours — and something gorgeous to take home at the end.
