We don’t have a very wide mantlepiece over the fireplace, and not much space to be showy, but I made a garland including pine, eucalyptus, myrtle and rosehip which works and I can lift outside overnight to help keep fresh. And with the paperchains, the Christmas tree, the children all home, a bemused Labrador, a sleepy cat and other forms of chaos, I think we’re nearly there…

I had a conversation about meditation today. I can’t meditate. I’ve tried. But I’ve come to the conclusion, when I’m making it’s the closest I’ll ever get. I lose myself in the rhythm and the balance and the beauty of the process and before know it, I feel different to a couple of hours, previously. And there’s a wreath infront of me. Another supersized delicious wreath with SO much texture, varied tones and movement in the pine, hedera berries, myrthus berries, pistache, Veronica, pittospurum, rosehip and limonium. I was making and listening to Hamnet simultaneously and couldn’t have had a better soundtrack today 🌿

Some left overs, a little bit of imagination and a break in the rain. This is my take on a door wreath this year; forest and field and finished with a beautiful , supersized bow . Not many walk past our front door so it won’t really get seen, so I’m popping here to add to all the glorious displays which are beginnng to pop up and around, brightening these days with less sunlight . And the postman Woody is delighted.
