The Power of Change'

Artists:
Hayley Garner () &
Seca One Art (Christian Fenn)

Produced by

Location - Argyle st Darnhill precinct Heywood

This mural is about change, reflection, and the strength it takes to choose a different path. It’s about finding light in dark moments and realising that peace and understanding are the true signs of strength.

It’s part 2 of our Darkness to Light documentary series, this episode focuses on violent crime and how we can build stronger, safer communities together.

The mural was inspired by real conversations with people who’ve turned their lives around, been effected by violent crime, supported others, and found purpose in the right spaces. These connections matter. They build pride, belonging, and hope.

This piece is dedicated to Callum (Russell), a local lad who sadly lost his life to violent crime.
A huge thank you to his mum Tracy Marsland for sharing hers and Callum’s story with us.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Sharing your thoughts, experiences and ideas. Its been an absolute pleasure getting to know you all and building this mural together.

The full documentary will be out in the new year. Look forward to sharing it with you all.

Thank you Jamie Buckley
For assisting on this wall and being the fastest hands in the north .... when armed with a paint sprayer. And Patrick Tierney for all your help and knowledge of the local community and area.

First mural back at it after enjoying some much needed chill time and space away from social media.

Commission for Chorley Council, different to my usual stuff as very ‘brief specific’ - but great to be out painting again.

Big up Aylo for coming over for a couple of days and help me smash it out in rapid time.

The brief:
The vision for the mural is to be a homage to everything that makes Chorley great, offering a glimpse of its landmarks, things to do and places to visit across the borough.
"The best of Lancashire, all in one place" must be featured in the design.
Chorley is set to launch a new destination management plan with this as the tagline

Here are the two final shots stitched together of our two recent murals painted in Mexico for the Akumal Arts Festival.

One mural on either side of the bridge into Akulmal.
Collaboration painted by myself (Christian Fenn), Hayley Garner and Zach Curtis

We wanted these murals to be a reminder to us all of the immense impact we have on the planet. They talk of the harm we've caused, but they also shine a light on the hope that lies in our hands.

Big thank you to Joe Schipani Jennifer TurtleBay, Joan Crowe, Steven Barber and shout out to all the other artists that made our time here even more awesome🙏
