Commission pieces completed this morning!
Custom order for a much bigger scallop shell with 2 swimmers.

The standard size of scallops which I use is between 10-11cm. Bigger sizes are subject to availability as they are more difficult to come across and also all depends on what fisherman pulls out of the Cornish sea.

Commission pieces on the picture are 12.5cm
WOW what a difference!

Instead of making waves 🌊,
today I decided to make a splash 💦
Inspired by the spectacular Humpback Whales 🐋 which can be seen around Cornwall.

My new scallop shells still need 48h of curing before they can be handled. Can't wait to see the final effects!

In the first 10h of curing, colours are still mixing with each other. White pigment paste is heavier than blue mica pigment so it is sinking during the curing process. It might look easy but if you have certain image in mind, it is quite challenging to control different colour liquids poured together.

Today it is my turn again to look after our beautiful shop/gallery in St Austell Market House.
New stock including my expanded range of resin magnets landed in 11 at The Market House.

Of course we didn't forget about male surfers, it just always takes time from the idea 💡to final product.
We still have plenty of ideas to expand our fridge magnet range... Jo is busy working on many things at the same time....

Today's Zoom is on a few recently made sets of coasters. Still can't make up my mind which style is my favourite.

Each piece is individually made. The process involves several pours of resin and each layer needs to be cured before adding another resin pour in order to finally create the desired impression of the sea.
