Windows to the soul...
I always start with the eyes , then work outward from the middle of the face. When we engage with someone - whether it's talking to or listening, we fix our gaze on the person's eyes, so it's the most important bit to spend quality time on.
Having said that, I've just spent 5 days painting a very intricate shirt...more on that later.

Many years ago, I painted a large series of contemporary florals. All sold but this one has come into my possession once more now that the owner has passed.
It is now available. Oil on canvas 30 x 30 cm with natural wood tray frame.
I am selling it on behalf of the owner's family, and thought I would post it here before I list it on my usual platforms.

I found another small canvas so thought I would paint this beautiful woman again from images taken for her sitting a few years ago.

These small canvases make great little pieces of affordable art, and have impact despite their size.

I memory of Bryan.
I painted this portrait of Bryan a number of years ago. I had asked him to choose a piece of music that was particularly special to him to play on this violin ( that had been hand crafted by his father) for his sitting.
He chose Bach's Violin Sonata #1- which I have also painted in the background. Bryan was a wonderful multi facetted musician, playing until the end of his life.
