Remember last week when I shared photos of a room full of grown adults behaving like overexcited toddlers and blowing bubbles everywhere? 🫧😂

Well, today I opened the kiln and was greeted by THIS little lot…

And honestly? I may have done a tiny happy dance. 💃

These are the finished results from our Members Club Bubble Painting and Silk Screen workshop, and I think they’ve turned out absolutely fabulous! The bubble effects have worked beautifully under the glaze, creating gorgeous patterns that look almost magical. Every single one is completely different.

This is the point where I normally say, “I don’t have a favourite…” but that would be a lie. I definitely do. The trouble is it changes every time I look at the photos. 😍

A huge well done to everyone who came along, drank tea, ate cake, made a mess, blew bubbles and trusted the process. It was chaos. It was noisy. It was slightly bonkers. And look what came out of it!

If you spot your masterpiece, please don’t rush down just yet. A couple of pots need a little extra kiln love, so we’ll send a text message as soon as yours is ready for collection.

Now then… let’s settle the important question.

Which one’s your favourite? 👇❤️

One of the things we love most at The Painting Pot is opening the kiln and seeing your amazing hand-built creations emerge. From quirky characters and beautiful bowls to wonky masterpieces (we love those too!), it’s always exciting to see what you’ve made.

The only problem is… our shelves are starting to look a bit like an abandoned pottery village!

We have quite a collection of unfinished clay pieces patiently waiting for their owners to return and paint them. Some have been sitting with us for quite a while, looking hopeful every time the studio door opens.

If you spot your creation in these photos, please pop in soon to finish painting it so we can glaze and fire it ready for its forever home. We simply don’t have room to store pottery indefinitely, and as a reminder, we keep items for up to 4 months before donating them to charity.

We’ve sent reminders where possible, but some of these little clay creations are still waiting for their happy ending.

Come and rescue your pottery before it’s too late! ❤️🎨

Look what emerged from the kiln today!

All the many Jellycat inspired pottery pieces that you created last week are now fired and ready to be painted. I can’t wait to see how these turn out.

This little cute workshop has proved to be so popular, we added a second date … me now have to add a third! Would you be up for it?

Customers often ask us how to achieve an ombré effect … this little video may help…

A handy little video that explains why we nag you to wash your hands after eating pizza at our pottery and pizza night. Also, why you should avoid baby wipes and anything else greasy or oily when pottery painting with us. 🙏🏻

Here's what's coming up this summer:

🤠 JULY – Play with Clay Cowboy Boots
Get your hands dirty and create a fabulous pair of quirky cowboy boots from clay.

🎨 AUGUST – Nordic Gnome Dry Brushing
Choose Astrid or Sven and learn the art of dry brushing with acrylic paints to create a gorgeous Scandinavian gnome to take home the very same evening.

🌻 SEPTEMBER – Sgraffito Butter Dish
Discover the beautiful pottery technique of sgraffito as we scratch intricate floral designs through coloured glaze to create a stunning butter dish.

Workshops take place on the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm and spaces are limited. Many of our Members Club sessions sell out, so we'd recommend booking early if there's a project you'd particularly like to try.

☀️ A little question for my grown-up painters… ☀️

The summer holidays will soon be here, which means the studio will be buzzing with families, children, holiday activities and plenty of creative chaos during the daytime! 🎨✨

Last year, quite a few of our regular adult customers mentioned that they missed having a quieter, more peaceful painting session during the school holidays.

So I’m wondering…

🤔 If I opened the studio on Monday evenings throughout the summer holidays (from 6:30pm) as an Adults Only session, would that be something you’d be interested in attending?

Think relaxed pottery painting, a calmer atmosphere, a chance to catch up with friends (or enjoy a bit of peace and quiet!), and maybe even a cheeky glass of wine if you fancy bringing one along. 🍷🎨

Before I commit to opening each week, I’d love to know whether there would be enough interest to make it worthwhile.

👇 Please let me know in the comments:
❤️ “Yes please!”
👍 “I’d come occasionally”
🎨 “Count me in every week!”

And if you’d be likely to bring a friend, tag them below too!

I’d love to hear what you think. 😊

☀️ A Little June Holiday Notice ☀️

Before the summer holidays arrive and the studio gets wonderfully busy🤞🏼… I’m taking the opportunity to sneak away for a little holiday and recharge the batteries! 🌴🍹

The studio will be closed for the full day on:

📅 Monday 15th June
📅 Thursday 18th June

My fabulous team will be keeping things running smoothly on other dates while I’m away, but on the days listed above the studio will be completely closed.

Thank you for your understanding, and apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

June is traditionally one of our quieter months, so it feels like the perfect time to take a short break before we head into the summer holiday madness! ☀️🎨

You can still book your pottery painting sessions online at any time using the link below:

Thank you, as always, for supporting our little studio. I’ll be back refreshed, recharged and ready for a summer full of pottery painting, workshops, bubble tea and plenty of creative fun!

Love,
Elaina
