At Rencraft we have been designing and making handmade bespoke kitchens and furniture for over 40 years. Each piece of furniture is handmade to order in our extensively equipped workshops. This allows freedom and flexibility in planning and design, full control of material and production quality, which is all delivered at a sensible cost.

Watch this before you design your boot room 🥾

A boot room works hard. Muddy paws, wet coats, school bags, wellies for every member of the family. So before you commit to a layout, it’s worth asking a few questions. Where will the boots actually live? Do you need somewhere to sit? Where will damp coats dry? And how much do you want on show versus tucked neatly away?

The best way to answer them is to stand in one. This boot room is on display in our Tunbridge Wells showroom, so come and open the doors, try the bench and picture it in your own home. Like everything we make, it’s designed and handmade in our workshop at Chart Farm, where we’ve been crafting bespoke cabinetry since 1980.

Steal these 2 tiny details for your own kitchen ✨

Open the bi-folding doors on this coffee nook and the lighting comes on, washing over everything inside. Behind it, a mirrored back bounces that light around, adds depth and makes the cupboard feel just a little bit glamorous.

Two small touches, but they’re the difference between a cupboard and a coffee nook you’ll want to show off.

There’s still room for mugs, cups, saucers, the kettle, the coffee machine and even the Velvetiser. When you’re done, simply close the doors and everything disappears from view.

These 3 details are definitely worth stealing (and saving) for your new kitchen, and all are from The Cobham Collection - one of our recent whole house projects in Surrey.

1. An island trough. Running between the two sinks, it’s a row of fresh herbs on a Tuesday morning, an ice bath for ch*****ne when friends come over, and a tidy home for cleaning products on ordinary days.

2. A coffee nook with pocket doors. Morning essentials sit close to hand, then the doors slide back into the cabinetry and the worktops stay calm and uncluttered.

3. A breakfast cupboard with a hidden fridge. Bi-fold doors open onto an oak-lined larder for everyday essentials, and beneath it sits a second undercounter fridge disguised as a drawer, so milk, juice and often-used fresh produce are kept right where they’re needed.

Each one is a small decision but together they’re the reason this kitchen works as hard on a school night as it does at a Saturday party.

Since 1980, we’ve never made the same kitchen twice. And that’s not luck - it’s how we work.

There are no ranges at Rencraft. No colour charts, no set collections, no “choose your favourite from the brochure.” Our Tunbridge Wells showroom isn’t there to sell you a ready made kitchen - it’s there to give you ideas.

As John puts it, it’s about taking the pieces you love, the bits that are right for you, your home and the architecture of your building, and putting them together to create a space that’s unique to you.

Then we make your kitchen by hand, and paint it in any colour you choose.

A striking aubergine island anchors this bespoke kitchen, topped with Dekton Arga, a worktop inspired by Taj Mahal quartzite. Its cream background and soft brown-gold veining balance the depth of the colour beautifully.

Every cabinet was handmade in our workshop at Chart Farm near Sevenoaks, where we’ve been crafting luxury kitchens and furniture using traditional joinery since 1980.

The Chef’s Table from our Calverley Collection is handmade in our Chart Farm workshop, using the same traditional woodworking methods we’ve relied on since 1980. Every joint, every drawer and every hand-turned leg is made to be used every day, for decades.

Hidden inside is a secret drawer with a knife block and spice storage, the sort of detail that gets discovered, delighted in and talked about by the next generation too.

Mirror, mirror in the cupboard … which is the fairest of them all? 🪞

Both these cupboards have reeded glass doors and soft interior lighting. The only difference is what sits behind the shelves.

With a mirrored back, the light bounces around the cupboard, adding depth and sparkle and making glassware and crockery look even more beautiful. Without it, the look is softer and more understated, letting the cabinetry and its contents speak for themselves.

On Friday evening, we opened the doors of our Tunbridge Wells showroom for a very special double celebration: 40 years of our MD, John, at Rencraft, and being named Kitchen Showroom of the Year at the KBB Awards for the second time.

It was a joy to welcome friends, family, colleagues, partners and clients, old and new, for an evening of delicious food, fizz and a little bit of magic. Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a memorable night.
