Take a look at this absolute beauty that just landed in the workshop! 🛠️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This wonderful old walnut long footstool has such a special story. Inherited from the owner’s mother, it comes with deep historic Scottish connections that are beautifully reflected in the incredible, intricate wood detailing. It’s was an honour to give heirloom pieces like this a well-deserved revamp.

To bring it into the modern day while respecting its character, we’ve reupholstered it in a striking Aztec tapestry fabric. The bold patterns contrast beautifully with the warm, rich tones of the antique walnut.

To finish it off? A classic brass studs detail that perfectly frames the new look and ties the whole piece together.

It’s safe to say this stunning piece of history is ready to be loved for generations to come.

Before & After: Mid-Century Makeover! 🪑✨

You know we love a good rescue project, and this gorgeous mid-century chair just got the ultimate glow-up!

She started life in some pretty tired, old green canvas. But underneath? A classic! She stripped her right down to the bones, exposing the traditional 5-spring base, and gave her a proper, sturdy rebuild from the inside out.

The star of the show? This absolutely stunning, vibrant tapestry textile called "Big Lollipop" 🍭. It has completely transformed the chair from dated to a total statement piece!

Even better—we managed to pattern-match so perfectly that there was just enough fabric left over to create a matching piped cushion. Bonus! 😍

Is it time to rework your favourite fabrics? 🧵

We recently had the pleasure of updating this stunning Sanderson Roman blind. By combining a classic print with a modern grey and red trim—and finishing it off with some fun red pompom edging—we’ve created a piece that feels brand new again.

The Professional Difference:
To ensure a high-end drape, we layered the fabric over a warm, thick interlining and backed it with a crisp white cotton. The entire piece was hand blind-stitched, ensuring a seamless, "clean look" finish without any industrial stitch lines showing on the face of the fabric.

Reviving a Masterpiece: 45 Years in the Making 🌿
There is something incredibly special about furniture that tells a story. These handmade chairs have been part of the family for 45 years, but after nearly half a century of love and conversation, it was finally time for a fresh look.

To bring some modern "pop" into a beautiful room, we chose a stunning woven tapestry print: Eucalyptus Leaf. 🍃

The Secret is in the Details: Why Pattern Matching Matters
When you’re working with a bold, organic print like this, you can’t just cut and staple. To do justice to handmade craftsmanship, pattern matching is everything.

Visual Harmony: Ensuring the eucalyptus vines flow seamlessly from the front of the seat to the back makes the fabric look like it was grown onto the chair, not just placed there.

The "Pro" Finish: If the pattern is off by even an inch, the eye catches the misalignment immediately. Precise matching respects the symmetry of the original woodwork.

Honoring the History: These chairs survived 45 years because they were made with care. We believe the upholstery should reflect that same level of intentionality.

The result? A vibrant, botanical breath of fresh air that honors the past while brightening up the present.

I made piping!
Lots of piping, ... This is cushion number three of a series of three l made for a customer who was happy to let me lose on colour, style and design.
Using "Pearl the Singer" my vintage machine, I created beautiful cotton velvet piping.
