Wrong time of year but fancied making some sugar skulls. Very fiddly, a tad spooky but such gorgeous smiles šŸ˜¬ Both made entirely from unwanted vintage and antique china on some mdf off cuts. šŸ’€šŸ’•šŸ’€

No Easter eggs in my basket today, just last years spinach and chard that has survived the winter. Clever thingsā€¦Also, a little surprise of one of my mosaic stars I made years ago buried amongst the chard. I propped it up in my veg bed last year.. just because it looked nice. Forgot about it now found again. No chocolate eggs this year but plenty of little reminders that old things can be new too. Onward and upwards. Happy Easter folks. šŸ’• .

My beautiful mum with my brother and me. It was always us, our little unit. Two years now since she died. I miss her every day, every hour. Her unconditional love, support and pride in whatever I did is really missed as I navigate life without her. What an amazing, clever and loving woman Jenny was ! She lives on in my children and those who loved her. Happy Motherā€™s Day to all those fantastic mums out there past and present.

Completely chuffed that a fellow Mosaic maker bought one of my pieces! You can see it here, if you look closely, in its new home on the pillar. My first hand mosaic based on the Shaker ā€˜made with loveā€™ symbol. Instagram these days can be very ā€˜loudā€™ and a little soulless with all the algorithm-ic interruptions. BUT, this is an example of the good instagram can, on occasion, bring. I have followed and admired her work and personality for quite a few years. We have never met but have touched base and crossed paths on several occasions over the years. It can be very isolating living in your own creative bubble but knowing that there are other folk out there who ā€˜getā€™ what you do and supports you, albeit from a distance, is so ā€¦.. empowering . To see my work with hers ( the fantastic ā€˜Homeā€™ sign) in her kitchen is franklyā€¦ā€¦bloody fantastic šŸ˜€
