Emily's Fleece I create hand-made items that celebrate wool, and the rich variety of breeds of sheep, which we have here in the UK.

Many fleeces come from my own flock of much-loved, Black Lincoln Longwool Sheep

I've been working on a felted fleece Valais Blacknose rug this week. Another commission, and a beautifully soft fleece. I'm pretty pleased with the way the black locks have intermingled with the white. Not quite finished, and it needs its final wash and finishing, but going well!

I'm starting to prepare for my Christmas Craft Fairs. This is a medium sized rug from my Black Lincoln Longwool Beatrice. As a shearling ewe, it's her first fleece, so very heavy and thick. Lovely colours. But I really must bed the girls on something other than straw the night before they're sheared - all that vegetable matter which got caught up in the fleece! I have since removed it (in a very patient moment)....... The fleece is ready to be made into a felted fleece rug. The rug section of her fleece also left enough to make a pair of felted fleece seat pads. Nothing is wasted!

Those two felted fleece rugs - the Valais cross and the Charollais are now in their new home - and here are the sheep they came from. Roger the Valais cross and Lego the Charollais. Both absolutely gorgeous. Ah the nostalgia - I remember grass...... đŸ˜‚

The drought continues here in Shropshire, but the girls are looking well. Enjoying their supper of concentrates here - no green, but they seem happy enough eating the dry grass. And I've discovered that they love carrots, so there's another daily treat! I've moved them to a different field, if only for a change of scene!! Their fleeces are coming back well - I think Martha and Emily are going to be darker this year, and the new girls are growing fleeces filled with wonderful greys and browns.

My latest two commission felted fleece rugs are finished and ready to go to their new home. One is the Valais Blacknose cross and the other the Charolais. Both have worked very well, although I admit the Valais is my favourite!!
