✨ From building site to beautifully finished✨

What a transformation! 🎨 This beautiful kitchen has gone from a building site to a perfectly finished space, and my customer is absolutely over the moon with the result! 🥰

One of my favourite parts of a project is helping customers choose colours that completely transform how a space feels. This kitchen was quite dark, so we wanted to lift it, brighten it and create a warmer, more inviting finish.

Rather than opting for grey, we chose this gorgeous warm cream to bring softness and warmth into the space.

💡 We used the same colour across the walls, woodwork and ceiling to create a more seamless, cohesive look. By reducing the contrast between surfaces, this can help a room feel more open, calm and spacious.

💡 Choose warm over cool. Warm creams and soft neutrals can make a darker room feel cosier and more welcoming.

💡 Painting walls, woodwork and ceilings in the same shade can help a space feel less broken up and more expansive.

💡 Paint samples in different areas and look at them throughout the day. Natural light and artificial lighting can change how a colour appears.

The result is a fresh, bright and beautifully finished space that feels so much warmer. ✨

✨ A room sympathetically brought back to its original beauty ✨

This beautiful Solihull room has had a complete refresh, while keeping the character and period features at the heart of the design. 🤍

A few months ago, we had decorative coving and a ceiling rose fitted, alongside tall skirting boards — and this project was all about bringing those details together beautifully 💎

For the walls, we chose Farrow & Ball Drop Cloth No.283 — a wonderfully warm neutral that works beautifully in this lovely sunny room. It creates that soft, inviting feeling without making the space feel too cool or stark 🏠

We paired this with crisp white woodwork, shelving and cabinetry, giving the room a fresh contrast and allowing those architectural details to really stand out 🤍

For the woodwork, I used Benjamin Moore Scuff-X, a highly durable interior coating designed to resist scuffs and wear — particularly useful for high-touch areas such as doors, trim and cabinetry.

And then… the fireplace. 🖤

We chose Farrow & Ball Off-Black / Smelt Black for the surround to create a beautiful focal point. Rather than using a harsh, pure black, an off-black gives you that depth and drama while creating a softer contrast against the warm neutral walls.

💡 When using a dark colour as a feature, you don't always need the deepest black. A softened black can feel much more sophisticated and easier on the eye, especially when paired with warm neutrals, natural timber and traditional architectural details.

The result? A room that feels warm, timeless and inviting, whilst allowing the original character of the property to shine. 🏡✨

✨ HALL, STAIRS & LANDING TRANSFORMATION ✨

What a difference colour can make… 💚

This hallway, stairs & landing has been colour drenched in Farrow & Ball Card Room Green, creating a rich, cocooning feel throughout the space.

The green walls and woodwork are beautifully contrasted with the black satin banister, handrail and staircase string, adding definition and a touch of drama without taking away from the warmth of the natural oak flooring and door. 🖤🌿

💡 Colour drenching — using the same colour across walls and woodwork creates a more cohesive, sophisticated look and can make a space feel beautifully enveloping.

🖤 Introducing black on architectural features such as a staircase can really define the space and highlight its original details.

🌿 Balance deeper colours with natural materials — the warmth of the oak flooring and door works beautifully against the cooler, deeper green.

✨ Think about the whole space — hallways are often overlooked, but they're the first impression of your home. Treating the walls, woodwork and staircase as one scheme can make a huge impact.

A beautiful example of how thoughtful colour choices can completely transform a home. 🤍

✨ A beautiful transformation, proving that a little colour can completely change a space ✨

This stunning media wall, expertly built by Finch Hatton Electical, has been transformed with a warm, sophisticated palette designed to create a cosy yet elegant feel. 🤎

🎨 The colour story

☁️ Ceiling — Farrow & Ball White Tie 🤍
Don’t automatically reach for a stark white ceiling! A warm off-white can add softness, depth and a touch of luxury. White Tie brings just the right amount of warmth while keeping the room light and airy.

🤍 Walls, media wall & woodwork — Farrow & Ball Tallow 💛
We chose to colour drench the room in Tallow, carrying the same beautiful creamy shade across the walls, media wall and woodwork. This creates a seamless, cocooning feel and makes the architectural features feel intentional rather than separate.

✨ Feature wall — Farrow & Ball Cane 💛
And finally… the star of the show! Cane brings a rich, golden warmth to the feature wall, beautifully picking up the tones in the furnishings and complementing the media wall perfectly.

💡 When choosing a feature colour, don’t just think about the wall itself. Look at the furniture, fabrics, flooring, lighting and accessories already in the room. Pulling a colour from those elements creates a much more cohesive and professionally designed finish.

Another tip? -Take your colour onto the woodwork! Colour drenching can make a room feel bigger, calmer and far more luxurious by reducing visual breaks. 🤍

🔥 Warm, timeless, elegant and incredibly inviting ✨

✨ Beautiful Kitchen transformation | Elephant’s Breath ✨

One of my favourite transformations — and proof that colour really can change the entire feel of a home.

For this kitchen, we chose Farrow & Ball Elephant’s Breath, a beautifully versatile neutral that can look completely different depending on the natural light and which wall it’s on. 🤍

💡 Don’t choose a paint colour from a tiny sample alone! Look at a larger area and check it throughout the day. Morning light, afternoon sun and evening lighting can completely change how a colour reads.

In the kitchen, we kept the ceiling crisp white to maintain that fresh, bright feeling and complement the cabinetry.

Then came the sitting area… 🤍

Rather than continuing the white ceiling, we decided to colour drench the space in Elephant’s Breath. This instantly made the room feel more cosy, sophisticated and connected ✨

Previously, the white ceiling made the space feel quite clinical. Now, the deeper use of colour gives it warmth and creates a lovely cocooning area to relax in.

💡 Colour drenching is particularly effective in rooms where you want to create atmosphere. Painting the ceiling the same colour as the walls can blur the boundaries of the room and make the space feel more intentional and luxurious.

And finally… crispy white woodwork ✨

We used Benjamin Moore Scuff-X — one of my favourite choices for woodwork when you want that beautiful, hard-wearing finish. The contrast against the soft neutral walls gives everything that fresh, polished look.

✨ Another beautiful transformation, another happy customer ❤️ 🏡

What a transformation! This once plain hallway has been completely elevated with one of my favourite colours to work with — Farrow & Ball Elephant’s Breath.

This beautiful soft neutral is a true chameleon. Depending on the time of day and the natural light, it can appear beautifully warm and taupe-like in some spaces, then shift towards a soft, elegant grey in others. It creates such a calm, sophisticated and effortlessly timeless feel. 🤍

And just look at that staircase! 😍

The jet-black stained handrail paired with crisp white spindles creates the perfect modern-traditional contrast — classic enough to stand the test of time, but with a contemporary edge.

The white doors and trims, finished in beautiful Benjamin Moore paint, complete the look and keep everything feeling fresh, clean and beautifully balanced.

💡 When choosing a neutral, always test your colour in different areas of the room and look at it throughout the day. Natural light, artificial light and surrounding colours can completely change how a shade appears 🤍

💡 For hallways especially, don't be afraid to introduce contrast. A dark handrail, crisp woodwork and soft neutral walls can turn a functional staircase into a real design feature.

A beautiful, welcoming entrance makes such a difference to how a home feels — and this one is now full of character. ✨

Another very happy customer, this time in Shropshire! 🤍

✨ A stunning bathroom transformation in Solihull ✨

Another happy customer / another beautiful project completed for Hills Contractors who have produced a truly stunning bathroom ⭐

We went for a crisp, clean white finish, which works beautifully against the warm pink-toned tiles and allows the gorgeous details of the room to really shine. 🤍🌸

🖌️ Use white walls to balance statement tiles— it keeps the room feeling fresh without competing with the tile colour.
🌿 Let your tiles be the feature — when you have a strong colour or pattern, keep the surrounding finishes simple.
✨ Mix textures rather than too many colours — the combination of glossy tiles, crisp paintwork and warm accessories creates a lovely layered look.
💡 Think about natural light — lighter walls help bounce daylight around a bathroom and make the space feel bigger and brighter.

A huge thank you to Hills Contractors for having me on this one. If you're considering building work in your home or garden, I’d highly recommend them for their quality and attention to detail.

✨ EXTERIOR TRANSFORMATION - SOLIHULL ✨

This one was a little different — an exterior project for a repeat customer, and what a transformation! 🏡🤍

There was plenty of preparation involved, including patching cracks, sealing new render with primer and getting every surface ready for a long-lasting finish. The result? A fresh, clean look that makes the whole house feel brand new.

🎨 Sandtex Smooth Masonry Paint was used for a durable, waterproof matt finish, with the plinths painted black to create that perfect contrast.

The fascias were taken from rustic-looking wood to beautifully finished features — primed, filled and painted using Gori Exterior Wood Paint, with the colour matched precisely to the front door. ✨

The customer is absolutely over the moon, and the house is now looking its best and ready for their son’s wedding in just a few weeks! 💍🥂

Another transformation, another very happy customer. ❤️ ✨
