🎄A new workshop for the festive season… traditional Christmas wreath making at Weston Museum! 🎄

This December I’ll be hosting a festive afternoon of wreath making, using beautiful seasonal foliage and natural materials 🌿

We’ll start with a simple wire wreath ring, which I’ll show you how to moss and secure before building it up with fresh evergreens. From there, you’ll learn how to add seasonal foliage and decorate your wreath with natural festive touches such as dried oranges, pinecones, cinnamon sticks and hessian ribbon 🍊✨

There’ll also be mulled wine and a mince pie to enjoy while we work the perfect way to ease into the festive season ❤️

Following the sell-out response to my Autumn Posy Workshop, I’m so grateful to be working with Weston Museum again and bringing another seasonal workshop to life!

I’m so excited to be working alongside Weston Museum on my upcoming workshops! 💐

From the very beginning, everyone on the team has been so welcoming, supportive and enthusiastic, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a lovelier group of people to work with 💚

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share my love of sustainable floristry and British-grown flowers in such a wonderful community space, and I can’t wait for what’s to come!

Happy Summer Solstice 🌾🍓🌞💐✨

I wanted to try something a little different for this year’s Solstice crown. Rather than using the wire base that usually forms the foundation of my crowns, I wove this one entirely from long summer grasses, gathered from the land on the eve before the Solstice.

That evening, I collected long strands of grasses and left them to dry out overnight. Using only hessian twine to secure them, I braided the strands together, feeding in more as I went until the crown was the perfect size to fit my head.

On the morning of the Solstice, I picked flowers from the garden — feverfew, verbena, rose campion, and alchemilla — and carefully wove them into the plait. The result is what you see here: a beautiful, completely natural and sustainable flower crown, made as our ancestors might once have made them, using only materials gathered from the land itself.

A simple celebration of the season, woven from the gifts of the earth in abundance of a midsummer ….

However you celebrate the solstice, I hope it was full of magic ✨

I’m delighted to announce that I am hosting an ‘Autumn Posy Making Workshop’ this September, celebrating the beauty of British-grown flowers and the changing seasons! 🍁

Join me at Weston Museum for a relaxed afternoon of flowers, creativity and seasonal inspiration, as I share some of the floristry techniques I use to create natural and sustainable posies. Together we’ll create a beautiful hand-tied autumn posy using freshly picked seasonal blooms, all in a friendly and beginner-friendly setting ✂️

Think buckets brimming with freshly picked garden flowers, all the gorgeous rich colours of autumn and a few peaceful hours spent creating something beautiful with your hands 😌

We’ll also chat about sustainable floristry, the importance of supporting British-grown flowers and the wonderful flower farmers who grow them, and how you can use flowers from your own garden to create simple, beautiful arrangements at home ♻️🇬🇧

Just one month till the Living Wreath Workshop! 🌱

A Living Wreath is a creative and sustainable alternative to traditional wreaths. It is made using moss and living plants rather than cut flowers meaning you are able to watch it gently spring to life as the seasons change 🌷

During the class, I will show you how to incorporate spring bulbs such as daffodils & grape hyacinths along with primroses and seasonal branches. It’s a lovely way to embrace the rhythms of the year and appreciate the unique beauty of each season.
