There is something special happening this SUNDAY 14th of June In Chelsea London

Open Art Spaces is back with their CHELSEA ART MARKET and it is an ABSOLUTE pleasure to be back.

Since I am bringing a collection of more than 200 illustrations of the most iconic London locations, painted by me in watercolour originally, I would like to take the opportunity to show you a bunch for fairly local ones.

In fact, I would love it if before or after browsing my stall, you could visit at least one of these locations and get to enjoy them because they are ELITE.

The Cadogan Arms (Chelsea)
The Surprise (Chelsea)
Michelin House (South Kensington)
The Old Cinema (Chiswick)
Electric Cinema (Portobello Road)
The Blue Anchor (Hammersmith)
Fox and Pheasants (Fulham)
The Grenadier (Belgravia)
Gordon’s Wine Bar (Embankment)
Kebab Kid (Fulham)
Battersea Power Station
Blue Posts (Soho)

Dont forget to join us at Duke of York Square for a day of independent art, creative discovery, live music, workshops, and over 50 emerging artists and makers.

Browse original prints, paintings, photography, ceramics, jewellery and more.

Free entry.

I have to confess that I took some days off again.
This time I went back home to Madrid with my small biz gals BY HEATHER FILBY ✶ boring earrings not allowed 🪩 and Mirri Rowland

You could argue this could have fall in the realm of of a true business trip: in barely two nights we did tons of product photography, scouted a lot of locations, visited stockists and discussed lots of business matters.

It is exceptionally hard to summarise a trip on 20 slides and only a couple of paragraphs.

We were blessed with 30 degrees and a strange crossover of the visit of both The Pope and Bad Bunny to Madrid.

We savoured a lot of vermouth

We ate enough croquettes to qualify as expert connoisseurs, mostly with a side of Spanish tortilla and real pork scratching.

We walked an average of 20K steps fuelled by ice cream

It was an absolute honour to show the girls my favourite spots in the city, mostly the super TRAD ones, because you know how much I love a ‘Victorian’ shop front.

We visited my absolute favourite espadrilles shop.

We got tons of bird’s eye viewpoints to make sure we didn’t miss a single corner.

We did some exceptional bar hopping.

What a tonic!!!

Rycrofts is a little repair shop right next to Streatham Hill Station.
I only actually noticed it for the first time a couple of years ago, when I got on the train right after seeing (because we did a pop-up together in Shoreditch that year)… and fell in LOVE WITH IT.

I did learn then that the shop had actually been a butchers previously, and I want to think that the blue paint that can be seen under the chipped paint, is part of the legacy of the previous business.

And this is why I insist on painting chipped paint, cracked bricks or dangling walls, because they can tell us so much about the history of the place.

The original watercolour painting of Rycrofts found its new home last year but the print is still very much in my collection, and frankly, THAT orange floating mount was just DIVINE!

A couple of Christmas ago, I tried really hard to complete my watercolour painting of THE GOWLETT, right in time for my last market of the year but I had to be realistic and preserve my energy.

So finally waited patiently and managed to complete it the following January, when I picked it up right where I left it, before the silly season.

The GOWLETT in Peckham, everyone keeps mentioning THE PIZZAS. I really got to visit again and try them for myself.

The Fryer’s Delight

One of my favourite paintings from a couple of years ago.

This is The Fryer’s Delight in Theobald Road, and it is a fantastic and iconic fish and chip shop. An absolute delight.

In my opinion, the shop front has been improved since they gained a new neighbour, .... I think their orange façade really complements it 😍

I have met so many people with stories about this place! and the best fact I’ve learnt about it is that they fry with actual beef dripping!

Hello London!
My name is Ana Gallego, a Spanish-born but South London based watercolour artist.
For the first time in my art career, I will be opening the studio at a very special event: Open Studio this summer.

I feel incredibly lucky to have recently moved to Carshalton, a South London little gem with an incredible artistic community and frankly, very handsome surroundings.

I would love it if you could visit us this summer, 27/28th of June and 4/5 of July and visit our trail of artists.

My plan is to showcase my original architectural paintings on my walls, so you get to see in real life the scale of my paintings and all the details that I very much love including.

But also, I am planning on painting live on site so you get to see all the work in progress.

My original paintings will be available to buy as well as my browsable collection of more than 200 shop fronts that I have painted so far.

See you this summer in Carshalton! SEE YOU AT LOCATION 20

DM me if you would like a booklet of the event but also, you can pick one from most shops including
