Industville specialises in the design and manufacture of vintage industrial inspired lighting and furniture. They pride themselves on offering high quality, design led products, available in large numbers without the high cost and time-constraints of searching for originals. All Industville’s products are designed in house, by a team of experienced designers and architectural specialists in the UK

with all pieces exclusively manufactured for them in their dedicated factory. All their products are made from the highest quality materials and individually hand finished ensuring that they retain an authentic and individual quality that holds true to the ethos and feel, unique to vintage fixtures. As a result, Industville have worked with a variety of distinguished retail, leisure and hospitality companies such as Jury’s Inn, Jamie Oliver’s Restaurants, Pizza Express, Ask Italian, Zizzi, Las Iguanas, Costa Coffee, Café Nero, SuperDry and Lush in addition to smaller scale interior projects and retail customers. Our pendant adds a sculptural focal point above the island, bringing a softer layer of light to the natural palette and clean architectural lines.

Its gentle translucency diffuses the light, while the stone’s individual veining introduces subtle variation against the restrained palette of warm neutrals, patterned textiles and refined architectural detailing.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗽: Bedside wall lights free up valuable surface space and help create a more composed scheme. Position them around shoulder height when sitting in bed, checking that the light reaches where it is needed without causing glare.

Set against a vast Highland landscape, is a lesson in how lighting can give a historic interior renewed character without diminishing its past.

Across bedrooms, communal spaces and more practical rooms, each fitting has been chosen to respond to its setting. Generous metal pendants bring presence to higher ceilings, while smaller wall lights cast a warmer, more intimate glow against exposed stone and brick. The result feels collected rather than coordinated, with every room retaining its own identity.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆: When lighting a period property, consistency does not require using the same fitting throughout. Repeating materials, finishes or the warmth of the light can create a cohesive scheme while allowing each space to call for a different form and scale.

A considered approach that adds atmosphere while allowing the architecture to remain firmly at the heart of the experience.

Here, the softly structured pendant brings shape and warmth to the space, while its natural texture sits comfortably alongside the muted upholstery, artwork and floral details. The result feels considered, relaxed and easy to live with.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗽: When choosing a statement pendant for a living space, look for a form that connects with something already in the room. The curved silhouette here echoes the rounded shapes in the artwork, helping the scheme feel more cohesive without becoming too coordinated.

A room designed around the pleasure of listening.

In a listening room, every detail contributes to the atmosphere. Soft materials help absorb sound, considered forms create visual rhythm, and low-level lighting brings warmth without distracting from the experience.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗽: Use several smaller light sources instead of one bright overhead fitting. This reduces glare, creates a more relaxed mood and gives the room greater depth, while keeping the focus on the music.

It reflects our approach to design at Industville: intentional, layered and created to shape not only how a room looks, but how it feels to spend time there.

There’s a lot to learn from a renovation that respects the character of an older home without becoming tied to the past.

This Victorian home in Queen’s Park brings original features together with contemporary materials, thoughtful colour choices and carefully layered lighting to create a space that feels both established and current.
