Meet the maker series at Ó Lámha.

Tamzen is a textile professional of 25+years’ experience, she is a previous Chairperson of
Feltmakers Ireland (the National Guild of Feltmakers) and a recipient of the “Emerging
Maker Award” from Craft NI in 2023. Tamzen’s work is playful - inspired by stories & the Irish landscape - a mix of the sweet & the subversive.

The work is designed to make you smile, laugh, think, and inspire your inner child. She uses 100% wool fibre to make a strong, long lasting, fully sustainable and biodegradable product.

Felt making is the oldest textile making process in the world & the only tools required to make this woollen textile are your hands. Born in Belfast in the 1970’s, Tamzen now works from her home in Maynooth, Co. Kildare, surrounded by fibre, up to her elbows in soap lather, dancing to the radio, chatting with the three kids and whooshing the cat off the table!

Sarah McGuinness is a fused glass artist living and working in Naas, Sarah is deeply passionate about the unique qualities of glass and its dynamic interaction with light.

Sarah creates a wide range of fused glass art and jewellery pieces. Her pieces often depict wild Irish landscapes, dotted with vivid wildflowers with nods to nature and the beautiful Irish countryside.

Each piece is completely unique - no two pieces are ever the same which makes the work truly special.
