Yes, I'm that mum.

And no, I'm absolutely not ashamed that I swear in front of my kids.

My kids hear it regularly. Don't bat an eyelid.

My eldest is 14. I've never once heard him swear in front of me. Does he around his mates? Probably. But he knows there's a time and a place — and so do I.

That's the bit people miss. It's not about the words. It's about context. It's about respect. My kids have both.

This whole idea that swearing makes you a bad parent says more about other people's priorities than it does about mine.

And honestly? The ones rushing to call people vile or disgusting over a few choice words... they're the ones I worry about, not me.

Judge all you like.

But if you actually knew someone like me — someone who swears like a trooper — you'd probably find the kind of person who would do absolutely anything for anyone.
