Life lately and studio updates…

- Gorgeous trip to Wales visiting friends over the bank holiday weekend ☀️
- Two great design proposal meetings last week with clients - it’s always great catching up and getting out and about!
- An insightful visit to learning all about smart lighting and experiencing their fantastic showroom
- A wardrobe consultation with the fabulous finally assessing my work wardrobe now I’m back after maternity leave; it was the best investment in myself and now feeling excited to go shopping with a clear plan
- Leanne’s signed up two new full house design projects last week 🙌🏼 (one being a returning client for their new house )
- A trip to Chester Zoo thanks to - River loved his birthday present 🎁
- Projects moving forward on site including the installation of a bespoke bed base designed specially for our Farmhouse project and made by ( our client is due to have twins this month so it’s all hands on deck getting the rooms ready before they arrive!)
- I’ve been working on something behind the scenes which is taking a-lot of deep thought, strategy and careful planning. I’m eager to launch it quick but I know I have to plan it properly so I don’t waste the investment in advertising ( the desire to move forward quickly is a feeling our clients often have and now I can relate to it 🫠 - I’m trying to remind myself to step back and be strategic and not to fall into the trap of impulsively moving ahead with things without a clear plan which often leads to costly mistakes. More to come soon!

Lately, I’ve been noticing how much the spaces around us influence the way our days unfold.

This thought started at our dining table, trying to feed my one‑year‑old. When the room felt busy, the TV on, clutter on the table, everything is so much harder… and time consuming. When the space felt calmer, things softened. Mealtimes flowed. There was less resistance.

It made me pause and think about how often we expect ourselves (and our children) to adapt to environments that aren’t really supporting what we’re trying to do.

This isn’t about quick fixes or universal answers. What works will look very different in every home. But paying attention to how a space makes you feel, and how it shapes behaviour can be a powerful place to start.

I’ve shared more of these reflections in my latest blog, Design For daily life: Dinner time tantrums.

I’ll be sharing more blogs in a series about other moments throughout my daily life; hopefully they resonate with you and provide some food for thought!

I’d love to know is dinner time a struggle or does it flow easy for you?

Renovations often start with a feeling rather than a plan.

A sense that something isn’t working, but uncertainty about where to begin. If you’re juggling ideas, budgets, timelines and advice from all directions, it’s easy to lose confidence before the project has even started.

Our Renovation Strategy Session is designed to create clarity.
Over two focused hours, we share our renovation experience and help you step back, look at the bigger picture, and shape a clear, realistic way forward. Together we’ll explore how you want your home to function, what’s worth prioritising, and how to structure your project so it feels manageable rather than overwhelming.

You’ll leave with:

– A clear action plan
– A better understanding of budgets and timelines
– Informed next steps, tailored to your home and lifestyle
– The confidence to move forward with intention

It’s not about rushing decisions.

It’s about making the right ones, in the right order.

If you’re feeling unsure where to start, this is often the most valuable first step. With experience across 100+ renovations, we help you plan with clarity, addressing potential challenges before they become costly or overwhelming.

In our recent blog we share our thoughts on Grand Designs, and the things that can go wrong in a project if you leave interior design too late.

Interior design isn’t just about picking out cushions and curtains. It isn’t a decorative layer added once the structure is complete. It’s what determines whether a large architectural project works in practice, and it makes the difference between a home that photographs beautifully on reveal day, and one that feels effortless to live in for years afterwards.

What you often hear designers talk about in the industry is having a “signature style”.

And the honest answer for us is we don’t have one, and that’s very intentional. Every project you see here looks and feels completely different.

A modern apartment with calm, pared‑back tones.
A heritage home wrapped in deep colour and character.
A warm, inviting family snug.
A light‑filled open‑plan space built for entertaining.

These rooms don’t match, because the people who live in them don’t either. And to us, that is the beauty of interior design. We’re not here to stamp a look onto your home.
We’re here to listen to how you live, understand the architecture you’re working with, and shape a space that feels genuinely yours; not a trend, not a template, and not a repeat of someone else’s project.

Luxury, to us, is the feeling of a space that gets you. A home that reflects your personality, your rituals, your lifestyle… not ours.

And that’s why no two projects will ever look the same. So, looking at these living spaces, each one with its own style, mood and story, I’d love to know…

Which one speaks to you the most? Comment 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 below. I’m always fascinated to see what people are drawn to!

We’re excited to be starting work on another To***co Warehouse apartment this week, the ninth home we’ll be designing within this incredible landmark building, the largest brick warehouse in the world.

This time, we’re supporting clients who are making a big move after 30 years in New York City. We’ll be designing and coordinating their new space remotely for them, whilst we are on the ground making sure everything is ready for them to settle in next year.

Working with clients from abroad is something we’ve grown very used to, whether it’s guiding a holiday home abroad or shaping a new home here in the UK from afar. It’s always a privilege to be trusted with such a personal part of someone’s life, wherever they are in the world.

And we’re looking forward to more international projects as the year unfolds✨

Last year I joined a renovation where the builder was already on site and the construction had raced ahead faster than the design conversations ever had the chance to.

The builders were asking for decisions daily, “we need tiles by next week”, “we’re installing electrics on Monday”, “what bathroom fittings are we using?”, all before the design process had the time to develop, review ideas and look at the bigger picture.

And because everything needed to be chosen immediately in response to what was taking place next on site, the options became whatever happened to be in stock, not what best suited the space. Our clients became overwhelmed with the process and ideas narrowed to whatever could be delivered within less than a week. All of a sudden the exciting project turns into a stressful experience with time pressures and rushed decisions. Don’t get me wrong, we can work around builders timelines and find great solutions quickly but it’s not the ideal environment for design ideas to flourish and decisions to be made.

It’s a problem I see so often… and people understandably don’t realise the time it takes for the design process to unfold with space to breathe and time to think, when they have never renovated before where builders are involved.

When we’re brought into a project too late, design becomes reactive. And that’s when the compromises start creeping in.

This is why involving a designer early makes such a difference, it protects your choices, your budget, and the calm, thoughtful outcome you’re actually trying to create.

Our latest blog explores more thoughts on this very topic. I’d love to know what you think. Link in bio.

If you’re planning a renovation this year, we offer 2 hour renovation strategy sessions where we can review your project scope, plan timelines properly in advance, explore the feasibility of your budget and set your renovation up for success. Our team have over 25 years combined experience working on renovations and we’d love to share our expertise with you. Get in touch by filling out the new project form!

Every day looks a little different in the studio, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Today Rosie’s quietly immersed in space planning updates for phase two of our Farmhouse project, Leanne’s moving between client meetings, and I’m sketching out early ideas for a holiday apartment in Tenerife.

A gentle mix of focus, collaboration and those small creative sparks that shape each project as it grows.

If you enjoy seeing how our projects come to life behind the scenes, stay with us; there’s so much more to share as our designs unfold.

Over the past few years of designing homes across Cheshire, I’ve noticed a quiet shift in what “luxury” really feels like.

For us in the studio, luxury isn’t about bigger, shinier or more. It’s about spaces that are grounded, beautifully considered and genuinely lived-in — homes that reflect the people who live there, not a passing trend.

In my latest journal post, I’m sharing our perspective on luxury interiors and how we’re gently challenging some of the design norms we see locally. A look behind the scenes at what happens when we design with intention, not expectation.

If you’re rethinking what you want home to feel like, I think this will resonate.
