After non-stop pouring, I am keeping this month intentionally slower. Just three lovely local markets, more studio time, and a bit of breathing room before November and December go full on. My diary for the next two months is already looking wild.
The exciting bit: new products and brand new autumn/winter scents are on the curing racks right now. Fingers crossed they will be ready in time for next weekend. Watch this space, first sniff will be at the market.

It’s coming back. Very soon.
Winter’s Night is making its annual return — our Christmas-ready winter favourite.

Launch date TBA (we’re pouring this week).

Scent notes: orange, lemon, cinnamon and clove, with jasmine, pine and a warm woody musk base. It’s festive without being sweet — think Christmas morning, spiced orange peel, fresh pine, and a cosy fire in the background.

POV: I see another candle maker at the market I’m trading at 🏃‍♀️💨
This one of favourite bits of market days.

Yes, you do meet the occasional stall who goes full territorial — no chat, no eye contact — and that’s absolutely fine. We’re all running small businesses, I get it.

But more often I get a proper natter. We compare scent blends, talk wax choice, swap wick dramas, and share which markets are actually worth the 6am car pack.

There’s nothing like talking to someone who understands why you’ll re-test a fragrance oil for three weeks straight. It feels less like competition, more like community.

POV: 1000 people walked past my market stall yesterday. I made £35. 💔

Quick to say: the organisers were brilliant. Advertising was spot on, footfall was huge, and the event ran perfectly. This is not about the venue or organisers!!

It’s not the sales that hurt most. It’s the doubt that creeps in after one person pulls that face. You know the one.

Serenity Velvet is my heart poured into wax, wicks, and late nights away from family. I know I’ll bounce back. But today? I’m just feeling it.

To every small business owner who’s had a “wasn’t-the-vibe” day: I see you. To every market shopper: if it’s not for you, that’s okay. But kindness is always free. 🕯️🤍

Nothing beats the hum of a sunny market day - meeting new faces, swapping stories, and watching someone light up when they find their scent. This is where I get to share my passion: hand-poured candles and diffusers made to help you mark time for yourself.
